Mathinna was an indigenous Australian girl, who was adopted and later abandoned by the Governor of Tasmania, Sir John Franklin. Mathinna was born as Mary on Flinders Island, Tasmania to the Chief of the Lowreenne tribe, Towgerer, and his wife Wongerneep but the tribe was captured by Robinson, the Chief Protector of Aborigines, in 1833. The Bay of Fires is a bay on the northeastern coast of Tasmania in Australia, extending from Binalong Bay to Eddystone Point. The bay was given its name in 1773 by Captain Tobias Furneaux in Adventure, who saw the fires of Aboriginal people on the beaches. Bay whaling activities were carried out in the area in the 1840s.The Bay of Fires is a region of white beaches, blue water and orange-hued granite . Bicheno is a town on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia, 185 km north-east of Hobart on the Tasman Highway, with a population of around 950. It is part of the municipality of Glamorgan/Spring Bay. The town is primarily a fishing port and a beach resort. The town was named after James Ebenezer Bicheno, the British Colonial Secretary for Van Diemen's Land from 1843 to 1851. 69. Swansea Beach Chalets, Swansea Tasmania

We chose to stay at the Swansea Beach Chalets in Swansea due to the amazing views.
The park also offers the opportunity to wash your Motorhome, Caravan or boat.
The park has great amenities plus a heated pool, BBQ area and kids playground.
The park is pet friendly.
I received good Telstra and Vodafone coverage.
At our site I did have some challenge getting level but the views were amazing.
The cost for us for the night was $45 plus $10 for Matt making it $55 for one night.
Our stay was 28th January 2017

St Columba Falls - Tasmania Hiking

A walk in to St Columba Falls. This video is taken out of thethe longer Tasmania Road Trip Day 2 video, although this also has a bit of extra footage added in. The falls are one of the best in Tasmania, and were flowing with incredible force on the day of our visit.

Hardings Falls, Tasmania

Hardings Falls is situated on the east coast of Tasmania, about 20 km's or so east of Royal George.

It's a relatively easy drive, along dirt roads - some of it rough. And there is a picnic spot at the start of the walking track to the falls.

The falls itself has multiple levels, with large swimming pools of crystal clear water found as it winds it way down through the gorge.

There was plenty of ice around on the day we visited in July, but during summer, this would be a fantastic place to swim the day away under the falls or in the numerous deep pools of water.

It's a steep, rocky & twisty track down to the base of the falls from the top lookout.

4 dias andando de moto nas pistas da Tasmânia. Muitas experiências legais e outras nem tanto. Mas mesmo as experiências ruins trazem aprendizados bons, então tá valendo. Recomendo demais ir lá para um rolé de moto, mas por favor, não vá no inverno.
