Sibiu is an important city in Transylvania, Romania that straddles the Cibin River, a tributary of the river Olt. It is the capital of Sibiu County and between 1692 and 1791 it was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania. Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centres of Romania, and was designated as Culture Capital of Europe for the year 2007, in tandem with Luxembourg. Formerly the centre of the Transylvanian Saxons, the old city of Sibiu was ranked as Europe's 8th most idyllic place to live by Forbes. Set in the Cibin Depression, the city is close to Făgăraş Mountains, Cibin Mountains, and Lotrului Mountains. The geographical position of Sibiu makes it one of the most important transportation hubs in Romania.
Mediaş City, Sibiu county, Romania, on the Târnava Mare River, was founded by German colonists in the 13th century on the site of a Roman camp called Media. Formerly a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire, Mediaş was united with Romania in 1918. The city centre is a large, tree-filled square, surrounded by old houses with tiled roofs. There is still a tower with an entrance gate and remnants from the walls of the 14th-century fortress. Mediaş has become an important industrial centre, utilizing nearby natural gas deposits.
Sighişoara is a city and municipality on the Târnava Mare River in Mureş County, Romania, considered to be the most beautiful and well preserved inhabited citadel in Europe, with an authentic medieval architecture. In Eastern Europe, Sighişoara is one of the few fortified towns which are still inhabited. The town is made up of two parts. Explore Romania : Rupea Citadel in 4K (Episode 2)
Rupea Citadel (Romanian: Cetatea Rupea, German: Burg Reps, Hungarian: Kőhalmi vár) is one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania, the first signs of human settlements dating from the Paleolithic and early Neolithic.
The first documentary attestation dates from 1324 when the Saxons revolted against King Charles I of Hungary took refuge inside the citadel. According to archaeologists, the current citadel was built on the ruins of a former Dacian defense fort conquered by the Romans. The name of the citadel comes from Latin rupes meaning stone. From the 10th century, the citadel experienced a systematic expansion, so that in the 14th century it had a key strategic role, being the main linking point between Transylvania, Moldavia and Wallachia.
A popular legend in the area tells that Dacian king Decebalus would commit suicide within the citadel, during the Second Dacian War (105–106), when the citadel was known as Ramidava.
Rupea Citadel is situated in the west of Rupea, on a 120 m-high basalt massive. The citadel is located on DN13, 70 km from Brașov, on the road to Sighișoara. The citadel is visited each month by more than 10,000 tourists.

LAKE VIDRARU : TRANSYLVANIA ROAD TRIP PART 1 | ROMANIA
LAKE VIDRARU : TRANSYLVANIA ROAD TRIP PART 1 | ROMANIA
We were very blessed to be able to visit Romania again. This time, we carried our parents and did a road trip to experience the nature of Romania and as well as to visit some relatives in the Transylvania Region. This video is focusing on the area called Argeș County. We started our journey at the bottom tip of the Transfăgărășan road. Also, we intended to stop at the Lake Vidraru as our first destination. We stayed at the Pensiunea Vidraru for the night. The place is truly amazing. You will feel the fresh cold air of the forest as it is located in the forest surrounded by pine trees and rivers. We went back to the Vidraru Dam to get more video shots and photos the following day. Our breakfast was at the Hotel Posada Vidraru as it is just next to the dam. Right after eating, we went straight to visit one of the nicest spot in Vidraru. It is at the Cabana Cumpăna. We took some drone shots at this are and had coffee and desert. This place is so isolated and the road is so rough. Despite of it, the view is rewarding. We recommend visiting all the places that we mentioned. And that is the end of our Vidraru adventure.
