Top 5 Myths about the Long Motorcycle Trips!
How to separate the myths from reality? Motorcycle touring tips.
There are a lot of misunderstandings and myths around motorcycle travelling. Actually if you ask 100 people you will receive 100 different opinions. In this video I will tell you the top 5 myths about long motorcycle trips.
Myth N: 1 – It is easy and everybody could do it!
Well, I am here to disappoint you a bit and tell you that it’s not exactly like that. Let me explain you with more details:
From the technical point of view – yes, everyone with at least one year motorcycle riding experience could do it. It is not a big deal. There is tons of information how to do it, include my channel, So he or she could learn what exactly is need it and make it. It is also not a problem to gain some mechanical skills and save enough money. Video about what you really need to go on the ling trip you can watch here. As I said you can learn how to do it is easy. The difficult part, or the part most of the attempts stops is the free time. If you don’t have it you cannot do it. In the modern days we have to work very hard to secure our families and survive in the financial jungle. To have a month or two for vacation will sound like mission impossible for most of you. Another one aspect to think about it is the expectations from the trip. Some will be excited and happy, but some will be disappointed and will never do it again. It’s really depends from your point of view. What exactly you expect from the trip? Do you want to go because you want to see the world or you have some different ideas?
Myth N: 2 – You can earn a lot of money from it.
You can write a book or make a film about your trip and sell it later. You can earn millions from it on Amazon, Video on demands or similar platforms. Yes, you definitely can, but if you are Ewan McGregor or Charley Boorman. For the rest of you, unless you are not professional writer, famous movie producer or some kind of celebrity will be almost impossible to sell you product. Another one option is to make Youtube channel, upload your travel videos and get paid for it. What about the sponsorships? You can find a bog company or person to pay for your trips in favour you will make some kind of advertisement. Yes, of course there are many big companies looking for this, but who are you? Is anybody ever heard about you and your trips. How many followers or subscribers you have on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Youtube?
Myth N: 3 – Long motorcycle trips are very dangerous.
I cannot agree with this, how dangerous your trip will be is depends only from you. You are the man in charge, you twist the throttle and you press the brakes. If this statement comes from the presumption that riding motorcycle is a dangerous hobby, ok, but it’s also dangerous to ride bicycle in the city, to climb in the mountains, to swim in the ocean, to fly with air plane, to walk around your neighbourhood in the middle of the night and many more…
Myth N: 4 - To travel with motorcycle is very expensive.
For any kind of travelling, it doesn’t matter with bus, train, plane or motorcycle you will have some expenses. How much exactly is depends only from you. You can do it like Arabian sheikh or like a simple backpacker. You can sleep in 5 stars hotels or in your tent. You can eat only in the fancy restaurants or from the local supermarkets. You are the person, who has the control these things. Detailed video about it you can watch here.
Myth N: 5 – On the long trips is very easy to get sick or even die.
When you travel around the world, especially in some countries from the third world, and if they have a medical problem there will be impossible to solve it. So the people think that if they get sick this will be a total disaster, but the truth is that on most of these, so call third world countries, you will receive much better treatment for very low price or even free.
