Menzel Temime (منزل تميم) is a town in northeast Tunisia southeast of the peninsula of Cap Bon.
The municipality of Menzel Temime was established on 19 February 1921, the municipal boundaries stretching over an area of 25,000 hectares. A member of the Nabeul Governorate, it has 44,424 inhabitants.[1]
The city was founded in the eleventh century by Moez ibn Temmime, a member of the Normans.
It is an economic center, including for the food industry (canneries of soft drinks) and the textile industry (garments, shoes and hosiery). Peanuts, tomatoes, and peppers are all harvested in the area. Also known for its beaches, it hosts the largest weekly market in the country.[citation needed] The city is an administrative center for the district.[citation needed]
The region lacks touristic resorts.[original research?]
The city is the hometown for UST[clarification needed] one of the oldest handball clubs in Tunisia. Menzel temime is the hometown of the singer Youssef Tmimi,[citation needed] and handballer Wissem Hmam
Menzel Temime (arabe : منزل تميم) est une ville du nord-est de la Tunisie située au sud-est de la péninsule du cap Bon.
La municipalité de Menzel Temime est créée par un décret du 19 février 1921, le périmètre municipal s'étendant sur une superficie de 25 000 hectares. Rattachée administrativement au gouvernorat de Nabeul, elle constitue une municipalité comptant 39 138 habitants en 20142.
La ville est fondée au xie siècle par Moez ibn Temmime qui l'a reprise aux Normands.
Elle possède une activité économique importante notamment dans l'industrie agroalimentaire (conserveries et boissons gazeuses) et l'industrie textile (confection, chaussures et bonneterie). C'est un centre de production d'arachides, de tomates et surtout de poivrons que l'on voit sécher, en août et septembre, au soleil ou fumé au bois d'olivier. Également connue pour ses plages, elle accueille par ailleurs le plus grand marché hebdomadaire du pays.
Son cimetière occupe de petites collines couronnées d'une série de marabouts dont l'un, celui de Sidi Salem, comporte cinq coupoles.
C'est la ville natale de Mahmoud Tounsi, Youssef Temimi et Wissem Hmam.منزل تميم

منزل تميم إحدى مدن الجمهورية التونسية، تقع في ولاية نابل. تعتبر منزل تميم من المدن العريقة في الحضارة والضاربة جذورها في أعماق التاريخ وهي تقع في الجنوب الشرقي من ولاية نابل التونسية وكانت من مدن المملكة الأغلبية التميمية وعلى هذا سميت بهذا الاسم نسبة لهم. و تحتل نقطة الوسط بين كل من قربة وقليبية والهوارية. و منزل تميم هذه الجوهرة المنتصبة في قلب تونس تختص بموقع جغرافي ممتاز وتحتل مركزا اقتصاديا هاما، جعلها تستقطب جميع سكان تونس لحاجتهم الأكيدة لبعض الإدارات الموجودة أو لقضاء شؤونهم في سوقها الأسبوعية الشهيرة أو للتعلم في فرعها الزيتوني. وتعتبر منزل تميم من المدن المتطورة والشاسعة. و كذلك أريافها الواسعة الجميلة وإنتاجها الفلاحي الغزير باعتبار أن 80 ٪ من سكانها يمارسون الفلاحة التي هي من أبرز مواردهم.
و منزل تميم هذه الجميلة الساحرة كانت وما تزال عاصمة الوطن القبلي في الثقافة والمعرفة، وإذا ذكر التونسيون دخلة المعاوين تبادر إلى ذهنهم منزل تميم التي اشتهرت بفرعها الزيتوني الذي تأسس سنة 1949 وهو المنارة التي أضاءت كامل جهة الوطن القبلي لأن خريجيها لا يدخلون تحت حصر حيث يوجد من بينهم الفقيه الورع والعالم والشاعر والأديب، ويمكن القول بأن معظم رجالات التربية والتعليم وأغلب الحكام والقضاة وضباط الشرطة المتواجدين على ساحة الوطن القبلي هم من خريجي الفرع الزيتوني بمنزل تميم أو من معهدها الثانوي الذي يعتبر أول معهد يقع تشييده بتونس بلا منازع. و هذه الأرض الطيبة لمنزل تميم الزاهرة قد أنجبت عظماء الرجال من أمثال العلامة الشيخ إسماعيل التميمي صاحب الرسالة المشهورة في الرد على الوهابية والعلامة الشيخ معاوية التميمي إمام جامع باريس وأستاذ العالم البحر الشيخ الفاضل بن عاشور التميمي

Nabeul (Arabic: نابل About this sound Nābil ; French: [naˈbøl]) is a coastal town in north-eastern Tunisia, on the south coast near to the Cap Bon peninsula. It is located at around 36°27′N 10°44′E and is the capital of the Nabeul Governorate. The city has a population of 73,128 (2014 census).
History
Nabeul was founded in the 5th century BC by the Greeks of Cyrene, serving as a trade port. Its name is a tunisification of the Greek Neapolis 'new city' (an etymology it shares with Naples, Neapoli, and Nablus).

During antiquity Nabeul was also the seat of an ancient Christian Bishopric[1] The Bishopric was founded during the Roman Empire and survived through the arian Vandal and Orthodox Byzantine empires, only ceasing to function with the Muslim conquest of the Maghreb. The diocese was re founded in name at least in the 20th century as a titular see of the Roman Catholic church.[2]
Being on the Mediterranean coast it remains today a popular tourist destination and the main centre of the Tunisian pottery industry.
