When Milton S Hershey bought 485 hectares (1,200 acres) of farm land in 1903 to build a new factory to produce his unique chocolate, little did he realise he was creating a new town too. Located in central Pennsylvania's Derry Township, approximately 130km (81 miles) from Philadelphia, the town grew into what it is today, a paradise of all things chocolate. Known as Chocolatetown USA, 'the sweetest place on earth', this chocoholic Garden of Eden is a fun excursion. There's Hershey's Chocolate World, Hersheypark (an amusement park featuring 60 attractions and a zoo), two hotels and even a chocolate spa.
