Miscou Island is a Canadian island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence at the northeastern tip of Gloucester County, New Brunswick. It is separated from neighbouring Lamèque Island to the southwest by the Miscou Channel with both islands forming Miscou Harbour. Lamèque Island and Miscou Island separate Chaleur Bay from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The Miscou Channel is bridged between the community of Little Shippegan on Lamèque Island to the community of Miscou Harbour on Miscou Island by the Miscou Island Bridge which opened in 1996, replacing a cable ferry and physically connecting Route 113.

1. Miscou Island Lighthouse Miscou
Miscou Island Lighthouse is an 11-metre -tall landfall lighthouse located on the North-Eastern tip of Miscou Island, at the entrance of the Chaleur Bay. It was built in 1856 and currently in use by the Canadian Coast Guard who owns the lighthouse, the land it is on, and also maintains it. It was built due to the shipwrecks that happened each year that could be prevented by a lighthouse. James Murray from Newcastle won the bid to construct the lighthouse. It is a federal Heritage Building that is open to the public to explore. In 2009 a parking area, washrooms, picnic area and a deck around the lighthouse was added.The light's characteristic is a single green flash that occurs every five seconds, emitted at a focal plane height of 14 metres . Village historique acadien is an historical reconstruction that portrays the way of life of Acadians between 1770 and 1949. It is located in Bertrand, in northeastern New Brunswick, 50 kilometres east of Bathurst and 130 kilometres north of Miramichi, New Brunswick. More than 40 buildings are staffed by interpreters in period costume who bring ancestral customs and traditional trades to life. Among the attractions is Hôtel Château Albert, a replica of a turn-of the century hotel that once existed in Caraquet. The original was destroyed by fire in 1955 but it has been re-created at the Village. It offers overnight accommodations as well as a dining room. Allow a minimum of 3 hours for a complete visit.

J’ai toujours instinctivement comme premier réflexe de quitter le Canada pour partir en vacances, voulant m’assurer d’être dépaysé et d’embrasser des cultures différentes des miennes, de savourer et de m’ébahir de la nouveauté qu’offre le sentiment d’être complètement ailleurs. Le Nouveau-Brunswick, m'a rappellé que j'allais devoir refaire mes devoirs, car j'ai y ai trouvé tout ce dont je cherchais, et ce, dans ma propre cours! Avec tes falaises dignes d'Hawaii, tes quartiers aux airs d'Angleterre et une faune à en faire rougir l'Islande, tu as su me conquérir avec ton charme unique et la chaleur de tes gens. Nouveau-Brunswick, on se revoit bientôt! Qui a des vacances de planifiées dans ce merveilleux coin de pays?

I explored New Brunswick with my co-worker Gill in the summer of 2017. I'm from Ottawa and despite attending the University of New Brunswick, I haven't truly experienced New Brunswick until I visited its beautiful parks. I shot most of these clips while working as a co-op student at the Department of Tourism, Heritage, and Culture.

Mount Carleton | Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick | Canada

On Saturday, July 20th, 2013, we drove to Saint-Quentin, NB to visit Mount Carleton Provincial Park, and to hike to the top of the highest peak in the Maritimes!

Overall, I highly recommend it! I have lived in NB my whole and never made it to Mt.Carleton before but this certainly won’t be my last. Next time, I hope to hike the other trails including Mt. Sagamook which is the most challenging trail there. Spruce Camp was such a great place that you would be hard pressed not to enjoy it, so long as you packed appropriately. It was dog friendly which is fantastic! Our dogs were so excited the whole time.

On a vu DES CENTAINES DE PHOQUES au Parc de Kouchibouguac - Nouveau-Brunswick - VLOG #2

Série de VLOGS dédiée à notre road trip au Nouveau-Brunswick, au Canada : Episode 02, le Parc de Kouchibouguac.

2ème VLOG, entre Terre, Ciel et Mer au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Nous avons passé 2 jours fabuleux en pleine Nature dans le parc National du Canada du nom de Kouchibouguac. Un nom que l'on a toujours du mal à prononcer mais que l'on n'oublie jamais, comme on dit ici.

Entre la découverte du parc en fat bike en bord de rivière et sur un sentier de montagne au milieu des pins, la contemplation de centaines de phoques en bateau au milieu des bancs de sable accessibles depuis le cap Saint-Louis, la beauté de la renommée plage de Kellys et des randonnées pédestres comme celle de La Tourbière qui permet de découvrir une immense et impressionnante tourbière depuis une tour d'observation, nous n'avons vraiment pas eu le temps de nous ennuyer. Et que d'émotions fortes.

Le Nouveau-Brunswick est décidément la province canadienne où la terre rencontre la mer. Et avec le magnifique et protégé ciel étoilé que l'on peut observer ici la nuit, on se demande franchement comment ce parc n'est pas plus connu notamment auprès des français.
