Úbeda (Jaén) Spain - Plaza Vázquez de Molina, UNESCO World Heritage site inspiration
Fascinating Plaza Vázquez de Molina contains so many unique buildings that it was one of the major reasons for the entire town of Úbeda (Jaén), Spain being declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003.
We did an overnight stay in this wonderful town, located in the region of Spain known as Andalucia. The Plaza Vázquez de Molina was just one of many highlights we enjoyed while there. The plaza contains the following architectural beauties: Deán Ortega Palace (Palacio del Deán Ortega, a Renaissance palace from the 16th century; Vázquez de Molina Palace (Palacio de Vázquez de Molina), another building in the Renaissance style aka the Palace of the Chains (Palacio de las Cadenas). Both of these buildings were designed by the architect Andrés de Vandelvira.
Also located in the plaza are Saint Mary of the Royal Alcázares [Royal Palace] (Iglesia de Santa María de los Reales Alcázares) and
Holy Chapel of the Savior (Sacra Capilla del Salvador).
As is our custom, I do all of the still photography, choose the music, edit everything and upload it to You Tube, while Ed does the great narrations as he films the camcorder videos.

100 Reasons To Live In Spain Nº 22: Unesco World Heritage Sites in Spain
I made a mistake!!! It's number 22 not number 21!!!
with the 22nd of the 100 Reasons to Live in Spain and this is a biggie.
UNESCO just loves Spain, it has the second greatest number of World Heritage sites in the World behind only Italy. Ranging from the first indications of mankind from almost a million years ago, through landscapes unchanged by millions of years to the more modernistic buildings of Gaudi in Barcelona. There is something for everyone to stare at in awe in Spain.
If you want to know more about World Heritage Sites in Spain then rather than looking at the Internet, come here, get an interrail ticket or a hire car and visit the country. You don't have to go far to find something jaw droopingly amazing or beautiful.

It must have been one of the most beautiful in the Roman world....
It was probably built during the Flavio period, between the late 1st and early 2nd centuries, when Vespasiano and Trajano were emperors, in order to bring water from the river Acebeda to the city.
Its 20,400 stone blocks are neither cemented nor stuck together by any substance, and they remain as a solid perfect block up until this day. The maximum height of the structure is on the Azoguejo Square at 28.10 m and a total of 167 arches.
