Starting from Paradise Bay Resort Hotel, Cirkewwa near Gozo ferry terminal, on a €1.50 bus ride to Mosta. A stroll round the market and a look at Mosta Church - St Mary's.....a very pleasant few hours outing and bagging some bargains at the same time.

Top 5 things to see in Malta & Gozo all in 1 video! (Mavic Air & Panasonic Lumix G80)

We visited during the winter of 2018 and the weather was still very warm, temperatures around 25°C were no exception. The first 2 days of our trip it was raining though. So, yes it actually rains sometimes in Malta but this only in the winter, I guess. It was very stormy also in Sliema where our hotel was. Very high waves, pretty impressive to see!

Furthermore we visited Valletta which is the capital of Malta and is surrounded by a huge fortified wall, absolutely amazing to see.

We also checked out Mdina, which is the old captial of Malta and is often referred to as the silent city because there are no cars allowed there. We shot some really cool photo's there. Check out my instagram: instagram.com/timtense to see our photos!

The Popeye village is one of the more popular attractions in Malta but it is kinda cool. It's actually the movie set of the Popeye movie shot in the 70's with Robbie Williams. Cool to check out!

We also took the ferry to the other island Gozo, here we checked out the citadel in Victoria, this was pretty epic! Too bad it was dark when we arrived. We'll have to return for sure!

If you think about Malta you probably also thing about the colorful traditional boats. These can be found in the small fishing village Marsaxlokk. Watch the video until the end to see some beautiful drone shots! We had some great fish in Marsaxlokk.

Overall it was an awesome trip! Malta is a great destination if you want to escape the cold European winter!

19th-century market hall located in Valletta, Malta. It is notable for being the first building in Malta to be constructed mostly of iron.

MALTA: Town of Mosta

Mosta lies in the centre of Malta. It is a busy market town with the population of approximately 19,000

Mosta is renowned for its church, the Rotunda, which is dedicated to Sta Marija Assunta. Built in 1833-1860's and designed by a Maltese architect, George Grognet.

This church is known for an incident that took place on 9th April 1942, during WWII, when a bomb pierced the dome, bounced on the floor in the midst of about 300 congregation, without exploding. No one was hurt.

Its dome with a diameter of 37 meters (122ft) is the 3rd largest church dome in Europe and the 9th largest in the world.

Mosta has two band clubs and one pirotechnic club:
Socjetà Filarmonika Santa Marija which includes a pirotechnic section;
Socjetà Filarmonika Nicolò Isouard;
Għaqda Piroteknika 15 ta' Awwissu.

The feast is celebrated every year on August 15 and it's well attended by locals and tourists alike.
