The town of Motovun is preserved in the medieval form. But the main surprise is that you can go hunting for truffles with a hunter and dogs!
Motovun is a small picturesque hilltop town in Croatia. In the northern part of Istria, overlooking the Mirna River valley, lies surely the most famous and attractive Istria medieval town of Motovun. You have a view of the hills and vineyards that build great reputation of Motovun, a high-perched village with a tradition of very good wine and food. Motovun or Montona is a village and municipality in Istria County, Croatia. Motovun is located atop a hill overlooking the Mirna River, with a staircase of 1052 steps leading to the highest point of the city. Attractive place, due to its medieval atmosphere. A panorama that extends over the vineyards and the forest, Motovun belongs to the category of forest parks. The Motovun forest is a habitat for underground fungi called truffles that are extracted using specially trained dogs. In the summer and early autumn they grow black truffles, while the late fall and the winter, develops the most delicious and the most expensive white truffle of Istria.
Motovun ou Montona est un village et une municipalité dans le comté d'Istrie, en Croatie. Motovun est situé au sommet d'une colline surplombant la rivière Mirna, avec un escalier de 1052 marches menant au point culminant de la ville. Endroit attrayant, en raison de son atmosphère médiévale. Un panorama qui s'étend sur les vignes et la forêt, Motovun appartient à la catégorie des parcs forestiers.
