Officially named in 2003, Varsity Lakes is a new Gold Coast suburb. It also includes the older areas of Stephens and Robina as well as the rather luxurious Azzura Island, a subdivision full of lavish 'Aussie dream' residences. Almost 12,000 people now live in Varsity Lakes. The Gold Coast rail service was recently extended to service the area, the Varsity Lakes railway station opened for business at the end of 2009. Plans are still under way to develop a station village shopping and service complex.

Early this morning I met Lori and Clark at the Division Street Farmers Market to chat about the scene that's a 30-second stroll from the front door of their home at 1155 North Dearborn, a boutique Art Deco building.
We were joined by Baird & Warner's Diane Freeman, who has Lori and Clark's 2,650 square foot, 2-bedroom, 2 ½ bath condo listed for sale at $1,149,999. The home has a very spacious feeling, classic architectural features and balconies with east and west exposures.
