Built in 14th Century and is a fine example of Vijayanagara style (Dravidian Style) of architecture.
The temple is well maintained by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of Someshwara in this temple.
One of the main attractions of this temple is the Kalyana Mantapa (wedding stage). The art on the four pillars of the main stage is extremely beautiful. It is influenced by Chinese, Thai and Europian architecture.
Kolaramma Temple:
Kolaramma temple which is only 5 mins walk from Someshwara temple.
Goddess Parvathi worshipped in the form of Kolaramma.
The temple built by Cholas during 11th century.

KAIGAL FALLS | GoPro | 120 KMS BIKE RIDE FROM BANGALORE | UNDERWATER | Wanderlust On Wheel
Weekend picnic destination around 100kms from Bangalore..Safe to travel along with family n children. Carry food and water along with as no shops are available near to the falls. Children can enjoy at sub-fall & make sure not to take them till main falls as its very slippery.
- Description:
Kaigal water falls is situated in Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is popularly known as Kaigal falls in reference to the Kaigal village situated about 2.5 kilometres from the Falls. Locally the falls is called as Dumukuralla Water Falls.
Cascading water flow from top sub divides the stream forming three different falls. One plunge waterfall at right and a Shiv Ling beautifully dividing two Cataract falls. The waterfall is natural and water comes from a big rock at a height of 40 feet. Ideal time to witness its force and beauty is during peak Monsoon. There are several natural mini pools below the falls where short swimming can be done but no diving. Its situation in the lap of mother nature gives an added advantage with natural unspoiled surroundings with plenty of exotic birds, shrubs, trees and wildlife. The falls is formed by the Kaigal stream which is one of the two streams to flow in the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, the other being Koudinya stream. And it is come under Theertham Panchaithi and Baireddipalli Mandal.
IMPORTANT: Please keep the Fall's area litter free.

- How to reach:
From Bangalore: Travel towards Kolar highway till Mulbagal and take right for Kaigal Village. Post Mulbagal a flyover will come where take the left side service road instead of flyover. Then from below the flyover take right to reach Kaigal Village.
Kaigal village is situated on the Kuppam - Palamaner Highway. As you drive from Kuppam the village comes on the right site and the fall is about 2.5 kilometres from the village. There is a mud road leading to very close to the falls from where a short distance of walk will take you to the falls. Best season to visit is between June and October during the peak rain season. The falls is particularly popular picnic destination for people from surrounding areas.
Google Map is good option too
Places to visit in Kolar
Avani, Antharagange Caves, Kotilingeshwara Temple , Antara Gange, Lord Someshwara Temple, Kolaramma Temple, Bhoga Nandishwara Temple etc....
From the old Land of Avani, Karnataka,India
Avani is a small village in Mulbagal taluk, Kolar district in Karnataka, India, about ten miles from Kolar Gold Fields. The village is located at 32 km from Kolar, the district centre and 13 km from Mulbagal, the Taluk headquarters. It is a popular location for rock climbing.
Ramalingeshwara temples are wonderful temples, build during Nolamba Dynasty, Avani also has a Sita Temple [Which is a rarity].
I also visited Kurudumale and Kailasgiri which were nearby. Had a great time visiting these places.

WAYANAD | KERALA | 10 BEST PLACES TO VISIT | TOURIST PLACES | GOD'S OWN COUNTRY |Wanderlust On Wheel
Can’t control my adrenaline rush once Long weekend is around the corner and this time my drive was to GOD’S OWN COUNTRY WAYANAD, KERALA. It was a 3 days trip covering some odd 1100kms.
Avoiding the regular route from Bangalore we went via NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK, Nalkeri Forest. As heard the forest was dense, exquisite, jam-packed with greenery & wild-life and to our surprise negligible traffic. With a long walk n few climbing of stairways EDAKKAL CAVES was the first place to visit. Then moved ahead to KALPETTA and called off d day as it grew dark.
2nd day visiting PHANTOM ROCK we headed for NEELIMALA VIEWPOINT. The 4X4 ferocious muddy off-road uphill drive to the view point is not for weak hearts but it was the superlative adventurous part of our trip. The beautiful MEENMUTTY FALLS can be viewed from the hill top. Moving ahead till the edge of the hill was spine-tingling to see Mother Nature in her ravishing attire. The view from there was hypnotising and we were above the clouds without an Air-plane. The next points was less known but beautiful KANTHAPARA WATERFALLS, Meppadi and then visited the spectacular SOOCHIPARA WATERFALLS. Last part of the day was Ghats section sun set view form LAKKIDI VIEW POINT.
Day 3 was started by visiting BANASURA SAGAR DAM and thereafter with a thrilling ghat section drive traveled to splashy THUSHARAGIRI WATERFALL, in Kozhikode district which was our last point. Finally bidding adieu to picturesque WAYANAD we drive back to Bangalore through BERAMBADI STATE FOREST & witnessing a bunch of wild Tuskers was like dessert after a heavy meal.
Thank you!!!
