Ancient Persia, Modern Iran
Iran is a delightful country to visit and I felt perfectly safe throughout my 3 week trip. It’s a land of contrasts with very friendly and receptive people of all ages living in a milieu of interesting billboards and street scenes.
It would have been daunting to try to label each picture and place so I did the best I could. If a place is labelled, the slides following will be from that place as well. I prefer that the viewer see the slide show as a sampling of the great sights and delicacies one can enjoy there, from the “main cities” of Tehran, Kashan, Kerman, Isfahan, Kashan, Shiraz, Hamadan, Qom and Yazd to less well-known and smaller places including Meybod, Natanz, Neyriz and Shushtar.
There are grand palaces, palatial homes, citadels (Bam and Khoramabad) and ancient ruins, the most famous being Persepolis. I found the Ali Sadr caves and the Zurkhaneh (musical gym in Yazd) intriguing.
And let’s not forget the endless bazaars full of spices, colors and crafts or the Mediterranean agriculture transformed into exquisite cuisine. I told my husband that upon retirement, “I want to go where the pomegranates grow!”

HOW I ACCESS YOUTUBE IN CHINA:
I left Kashan after staying for 2 nights and went to several sightseeing on the way to Esfahan. It was surely a long but fun day! I went to Abyaneh village which is one of the oldest villages in Iran. Abyaneh village is also listed as one of historical villages by the UNESCO World Heritage Center.

Hi there!
I am Anissa Syifa Adriana, otherwise known as Syifa. I am a conversation connoisseur, Indonesian female solo traveler and make-up enthusiast. I started my first solo traveling in June 2014, a coincidence trip, where it was intended for someone I was very close to in the past. I never regret deciding to go because after that, I never look back.
I decided to leave Indonesia since August 2016, to do a long-term traveling. After being on the road for about 5 months, in January 2017 I was offered to teach English in Yinchuan, Northwest China. Instead of going back home, at that time I went straight to China from Vietnam carrying only the remaining USD 300 that I had in my bank account. Arrived in China for the first time, everything felt so intimidating and foreign at the same time. Since then, I am based in Yinchuan, Northwest China and have been loving it.
