The United Kingdom participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The British entry for the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal, was selected via the national final Eurovision: You Decide, organised by the British broadcaster BBC. On 16 November 2017, it was announced that Måns Zelmerlöw, winner of the 2015 contest for Sweden, would join the show as co-host alongside Mel Giedroyc. The national final took place on 7 February 2018 at the Brighton Dome. Six acts competed in the national final, with the song Storm performed by SuRie being selected the winner. As a member of the Big 5, the United Kingdom automatically qualified to compete in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Brighton is the perfect day trip from London. Only an hour by train, there’s a beach, a fun pier, great food… and yet I had only been there once.

I was already planning another trip when I received an invite to spend the weekend at the new Brighton Harbour Hotel with some other bloggers to get to know the real Brighton. Sounds like a plan!

Brighton Travel Guide: BEST Places To Visit & Hidden Gems | Day Trip From London

I took a day trip to Brighton from London to search for the best hidden gems/things off the beaten track in the city! We found everything from coffee shops that sold APEROL SORBET WITH PROSECCO, vintage shops, old school photo booths, antique shops to the piercing place I went to for my tummy piercing when I was 17! Huge thank you to my pal Tom for taking me around and for putting up with me going, I LOVE coming back to Brighton, it always feels like home. For anybody that doesn't know, I was born in London but grew up in the South Coast so I call Brighton home :)

Visit to Brighton & Brighton Beach

On a sunny, warm Saturday morning in July, we decided to set out on a trip from London to Brighton (South England / Southern UK) to see this pretty seaside town. This video is a small virtual walking tour of Brighton for you.

We only covered a fraction of the official things to do in Brighton because we were only there for a couple of hours for our day in Brighton, but we did get to fit a few sightseeing places including:
- a fair number of the city's pretty bunting-clad streets with flower window boxes and hanging baskets (the North Laines, the Lanes, Kemp Street, Kensington Gardens and East Street)
- Pavilion gardens with the Royal Pavilion's impressive building as well as the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery building
- Victoria gardens
- Brighton pier (from afar at least)
- Brighton Beach and the length of the promenade where there's volleyball, boules, basketball courts and lots of little shops, kiosks, restaurants, galleries and bars.
- the famous colourful Brighton Beach huts

Just walking around and soaking up the vibe of the place was great and filled our day to the brim so if you're looking for cheap Brighton ideas for things to do in Brighton on your Brighton holiday / break - I'd recommend just exploring the area by foot.
