Niebla (Spanish for fog) is a coastal Chilean town close to the city of Valdivia, Valdivia Province, Los Ríos Region. Niebla is located on the northern edge, at the mouth of the Valdivia River, across from Corral. Niebla's beach and folk market are popular tourist destinations during the summer, together with the ruins of a Spanish colonial fort and its museum.

VALPARAìSO: a colorful city (CHILE 2017)
2° STOP: VALPARAISO (16-18 october 2017)
It's the second most important port of Chile on the Pacific Ocean.
The city owes its name to the Italian sailors of Admiral Giovanni Battista Pastene, who identified those beautiful places as valley of paradise.
Geographically, its shape is like a large natural amphitheater located in the homonymous bay and surrounded by 42 hills (cerros), in which most of the population lives. The peculiarity of some hills is to be full of paintings and graffiti, thanks to which the inhabitants have given new life to some old houses and explained the history of the city through past and present struggles.

Since December 1987, a palace built in the last years of the Pinochet dictatorship has become the home of the Chilean bicameral parliament (Congreso Nacional). In 2003 the historic center was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Local tourist attractions are the numerous picturesque and colorful houses and La Sebastiana, the museum built in one of Pablo Neruda's homes.
- History:
The first conquistadores landed in the early 1500s. Pizarro, helped earlier by Pedro de Valdivia, allowed him to conquer Chile. His first official act was the foundation of the city of Santiago de la Nueva Extremadura in 1541; Valparaíso was designated as its natural harbor on September 3, 1544.
It was a period of looting, destruction and death caused by pirates, especially the English Francis Drake and Richard Hawkins (late 16th century).
- Natural disasters:
On July 8, 1730, there was a great earthquake (magnitude 8.7 Richter) that struck Valparaiso and several other places like Santiago and Rancagua. It lasted for 15 minutes and generated a tsunami that struck the areas from north of Peru to Chile, crossing Valparaiso (so far this is the only destructive tsunami in this city) and reaching the Japanese coast.

First up, we started with the city’s most iconic sight: Christ Redeemer. We boarded the train as soon as the station opened and made our way to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Sometimes the statue can be shielded by fog, but we lucked out with beautiful blue skies and panoramic views of the city as far as the eye could see.
For a bit of colour, we headed over to the Selaron Steps, which is a tiled staircase created by Chilean artist, Jorge Selarón. Initially Selaron would scavenge construction sites looking for tiles, but in later years as his work gained notoriety, travellers began donating tiles.
Since we chose to stay in the neighbourhood of Ipanema, we ended up spending quite a bit of time at Ipanema Beach. We noticed that this beach was really popular for beach football, volleyball, and surfing. And of course, what makes this beach so iconic are its two mountains, known as Dois Irmãos. If you come here on a clear day, you can catch a killer sunset.
No visit to Rio de Janeiro would be complete without heading up Sugarloaf Mountain, so when the skies finally cleared that’s exactly what we did. We paid for our tickets and boarded the cable car for a somewhat unnerving ride up. If you’re scared of heights, this probably isn’t the attraction for you, however, if you manage to make it to the top you get some really cool panoramic views of Rio.
Copacabana Beach is the most famed beach in all of Rio de Janeiro and if you were to visit on a weekend during the summer months you’d find that the place is packed beyond belief. We happened to be here in winter so things were a lot more relaxed, but that didn’t stop visitors from braving the waters.
We did a favela tour to Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira. On our tour we saw lots of street art, learned about life inside a favela.

Pucón, Chile - Things to do - Travel Guide
Pucón is extremely popular both with Chileans and foreigners for the beautiful views of Volcano Villarrica , which is the highest and most-active climbable volcano in South America. The city centre is a backpacker's paradise, filled with travel agencies offering a wide range of day trips. Apparently, also the night-life is quite active. If you don't like it crowded, avoid January and February as they are the busiest months. We visited in February.
We stayed just outside of the town in Caburgua on a lovely tranquil estate, Hotel Salto del Carileufu . From here we could explore the area avoiding the busy town centre unless eating out. Don't get me wrong it was a lovely place but in this guide we stick to things you can do in the area, around Pucón, rather than the town.
We visited numerous Waterfalls like Ojos Del Caburgua, and Salto El Léon. Spent hours just driving the local area with so many lakes and views to stop at and take pictures.
A highlight shown in the video was Termas Geometricas. It's a 2 hour scenic drive from Pucon and the last 30 minutes is on a bumpy gravel road, but don't let that put you off. Most 2 wheel drive cars are fine if you take it slow! It is really is an amazing place, Highly recommend you make the effort.
