Full attractions review of Djurs Sommerland Theme park in Denmark.
Djurs Summer Park (Danish: Djurs Sommerland) is an amusement park on Djursland in Denmark. It is located just north of the village of Nimtofte, 23 kilometers west of Grenaa, and 36 km east of Randers.
The park was opened in 1981, and it has been expanded every year since then. The park is, like the name suggests, only open in the summer. It opens around May and the season lasts until mid-October. Djurs Sommerland has about 800,000 visitors each season, which makes it the fifth largest tourist attraction in Denmark.

The park is divided into: Pirateland, Sommerland, Mexicoland, Cowboy and Indian Land, Farmland, Africaland and the waterpark Vandland that is included in the admission price.
Sommerland is the park´s original area that opened in 1981; over the years many of its rides have been removed while others have been added. The main attractions are: Ørnen and Colorado River.
Farmers land is the new themed area with 10 new rides themed after life at a farm. The rides are for the whole family and a lot of are for the smallest children also.
Africaland was opened in 1993. Here, the intrepid traveler can venture on an adventurous journey on a river surrounded by a jungle that is meant to resemble Africa. In Tarzanland the kids can play and swing like Tarzan himself.
Cowboy and Indian Land has a replica of an old Texas Wild West town where cowboys roam the streets, there is also a play area where kids can play Indians. The main attraction in this land is the Rio Grande Rafting.
Mexicoland has a miniature golf course. Old Mexico has beautiful scenery and a bit of the Mexican spirit as well. The main attraction is the double-launch coaster Juvelen
Pirateland opened in 2008. Of course this area has a pirate theme, but it also has three of the park´s most exciting rides: Piraten, Skattøen and The Piranha.
Vandland is a water park that was opened in 1985 and was the first of its kind it Denmark at the time.

Skatteoen off-ride HD Djurs Sommerland
There are currently seven of these Mack Rides custom water coasters operating at parks the world over. This one opened in 2011, two years before the identical Storm Coaster at Sea World near Surfers Paradise in Queensland, Australia.

Skatteøen front seat on-ride HD POV Djurs Sommerland
This Mack Rides custom water coaster stands 92 feet tall, making it the second tallest coaster of its type behind Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld San Diego. The two Mack Rides SuperSplash coasters at Europa Park and SeaWorld San Antonio are also taller, but the similar Poseidon coaster at Europa Park is nearly 17 feet shorter although it's nearly twice as long.

Juvelen off-ride HD Djurs Sommerland
This Intamin tire-propelled launched coaster opened in 2013 and is the newest of the four currently operating. The 53 mph launch is also much faster and with nearly 3300 feet of track, it's also longer than Galaxy Express 999 in Tokyo or Jet Rescue at Sea World and Mick Doohan's Motocoaster at Dreamworld (both Australia).

Juvelen 3D front seat on-ride HD POV Djurs Sommerland
This Intamin tire-propelled launched coaster varies from the other three currently operating in that passengers ride on ATV themed trains. The pre-launch section is normally dark throughout the show, but the park left the lights on for us at the beginning so that you can see all the themeing that went into making this fantastic coaster.

Ørnen on-ride HD POV Djurs Sommerland
Ørnen is Danish for Eagle and these HUSS tilting topple tower attractions are fun to ride, but are getting harder to find. Two installations in North America were removed from their parks, Dollywood and Marineland Canada, due to maintenance and reliability issues.

Holiday Home in Denmark for 40 people located near the small town of Nimtofte, Djursland in Jutland. The glamorous holiday country estate was built in 1842 and extensively renovated in 2008, so that it appears like new, and has all modern installations.
The property consists of a large living room / kitchen that can accommodate everybody at the big long table. On the first floor you will find a conference room for 50 people, furnished with a big screen and with the possibility of connecting computers. Free internet access.
The beautiful side building is equipped with 6 separate apartments in 2 floors, each containing: kitchen / living room, bathroom, access to private terrace facing the garden, 3 bedrooms each with 2 single beds. All kitchens are fitted with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. Moreover, there is TV / DVD in all apartments.
The big holiday home in Djursland offers a beautiful pool area, where you can play for hours in the large swimming pool. And you can challenge your colleagues or family in the 400 m² large, unheated activity hall with handball, badminton and indoor football.
Prices are valid up to 40 people and extra 12 people can be individually booked.
This house is especially suitable for various corporate events or a reunion in Denmark.

Piraten 3D front seat on-ride HD POV Djurs Sommerland
There are four of these Intamin mega-lite coasters currently operating and this is the only one not located in the Far East - two in China and one in Japan. All four are identical to each other with a height of 102 feet and a top speed of 53 mph as well as an abundance of airtime.
