Weather on the Camino de Santiago | CaminoWays.com
The weather on the Camino de Santiago will depend on the season and the region you choose to travel. Some parts of Spain can reach very high temperatures during Summer, but from Autumn to Spring you will find colder days, even very cold ones.
During late Autumn and Winter some hotels might close and flights and ferries operate less frequently than in the warmer months. Daylight hours are also reduced, so you will need to adjust and manage better the daily distance you want to cover. The weather on the Camino de Santiago starts to get milder in Spring. Although nights and early mornings can still be pretty cold and rainy, especially on the coast, the mountains and northern Spain in general.
The rainiest months are definitely in Autumn but Spring can also be pretty rainy. In the North of Spain, it is not unusual to get some rainy days in the Summer also.
A positive aspect of Autumn and early Spring (October and April for example), is that the number of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago is way lower than July and August, when the affluence of pilgrims, especially on the French Way, can be very high.
The warmest months enjoy much longer days in terms of light hours, rain is infrequent and temperatures are higher. The weather is mainly dry and warm most of the way, apart from the North West corner with its Atlantic climate. Keep in mind that some days can be very hot and sun protection is vital. Also during the night you might suffer from very warm temperatures.
Bear in mind some sections might be too hot for walking in July and August, for example, the Via de la Plata in Andalucía and Extremadura.
Some sections are not recommended during Winter season: from October/November to February/March, as there might be snow in high altitude and it could be very difficult to walk. This is the case in sections crossing mountains, such as section 1 of the French Way along the Route Napoleón in the Pyrenees. During the coldest months, this section is usually completely covered by snow and can get quite foggy. For this reason, it would be very difficult and unpleasant for you to walk and for us to transfer your luggage. The mountains of León (section 6), O Cebreiro (section 7) and Section 1 of the Original Way from Oviedo to Lugo also get snow in the Winter. However most sections approaching Santiago, including the last section of the French Way from Sarria to Santiago, are quite low in altitude and therefore pretty mild in Winter. While you will get frosty Winter days it will be unusual for that area to get snow.
The landscape, climate and weather on the Camino de Santiago is very varied, not just from one country to another, but also from one city to the next, even between places not that far from each other.
Have a look at our average temperature and average rainfall graphs on our blog on the link below. And remember, always make sure that you check the forecast before leaving for your Camino holiday and check our list of what to bring with you.

Top 5 Must-See Attractions in Yosemite | National Geographic
By placing Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove under federal protection in 1864, Abraham Lincoln paved the way for what would later become California's Yosemite National Park. See the tallest waterfall in North America, massive sequoia trees in Mariposa Grove, and endless wildlife throughout the park. From mountainous vistas to valleys of wildflowers, it is clear why this sprawling wilderness has awed and inspired the likes of John Muir and Ansel Adams.

Beach on the camino | CaminoWays.com
With almost 1500 kilometers of coastline, Galicia and its Rías (estuaries or bays) are home to almost 700 beaches! Galicia's many coves and beaches are a fantastic place to relax after your journey along the Camino de Santiago. If you are walking the Camino de Santiago in Summer time and have a few of days to spare, venture to the Galician coast, you will not regret it. The Galician Rías are divided in two: Rías Altas (higher estuaries in the North) and Rías Baixas (lower estuaries, in the South).
The best way to access the beaches of Galicia, particularly those not in towns, is by car. However, many coastal towns enjoy decent urban beaches within walking distance, if you are travelling by public transport and you are only craving a swim in the sea and a coastal town atmosphere.
Arousa and Muros/Noia are the closest estuaries to Santiago, therefore a good option if you are planning a short rip. You will find really stunning beaches only an hour drive away from Santiago de Compostela and usually only a few kilometres outside towns and villages: Carnota, O Grove, Muros, Baroña, Vilar, Corrubedo...
Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) Playa Samil
Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) Playa Samil
Samil Beach is the principal beach of Vigo in Galicia in north-west Spain. The river Lagares mouth is found at its west end. It is located in an environment of exceptional beauty, with Cíes Islands as background.
The Playa Samil is 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) long and is connected with the urban public transport and disabled accesses are available during the summer. Several Vitrasa urban public transport lines connect it with different areas of the city. Those lines are: L10, C15A, C15B y C15C during the whole year; C3 during the summer; and the night lines CN1 y CN2.
Around Samil, several services have been created: museums (such as Museo do Mar and Verbum) to different catering premises, clubs and cafés. Its promenade covers the littoral zone and it offers several leisure facilities (three public swimming pools, garden areas, basketball courts, a mini-soccer court, tennis and paddle courts, a skating rink, and terraces).
The beautiful boardwalk is well lit for evening strolling and has public water fountains as well as viewing telescopes to see the main cruise ships which dock nearby. In the summer, a great number of outdoor activities are organised there including having lifeguards on staff.
( Galicia - Spain ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Galicia . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Galicia - Spain
