St. Cecilia's Cathedral - Omaha, Nebraska
St. Cecilia Cathedral, Seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Built in stages, in the years 1905 through 1959. Designed in Spanish Renaissance Revival style architecture by noted Nebraska architect and Free Mason Thomas Kimball.
The masterwork of architect Thomas Rogers Kimball, the Cathedral was the tenth largest in the United States at the time of its construction. Built on one of the highest points of the city, its twin towers are a familiar and beloved landmark. In 1959, the Cathedral was declared complete and debt-free, requirements for consecration.
On April 9 of that year, it was consecrated by Archbishop Gerald Bergan and eighty priests. Omaha had been named an archdiocese in 1945, with James Ryan the first archbishop.

Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - Lincoln Southwest High School to Vintage Heights . 2013 ( ネブラスカ州リンカーン市 )
A beautiful day here in Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A.! Finally we are beginning to see some summertime skies overhead!...
Along this route, we travel near or among the city's edge, mostly on Pine Lake Road - from S. 14th Street where Lincoln Southwest High School is located, to the east edge of Lincoln on S. 98th Street. On one part of this trip, we go on Eiger Drive. At one time before development, Pine Lake Rd. ran all of the way from east-to-west in a straight line. When Lincoln got down to the Pine Lake community with the S. 84th Street expansion, some traffic calming measures were put into place for Pine Lake. Pine Lake Rd. was pretty much removed along the south side of the community and 84th St. was moved a bit east... so now we travel on Eiger Dr. if we want to!
I remember when Pine Lake Rd. was a gravel road because there was no city around it. How time flies ~_~ .....

Laramie Wyoming to Denver Colorado Driving on Interstate 80 and Interstate 25
Interstate 80 (I-80) is a transcontinental limited-access highway in the United States that runs from downtown San Francisco, California to Teaneck, New Jersey in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The highway was designated in 1956 as one of the original routes of the Interstate Highway system. Its final segment was opened to traffic in 1986. It is the second-longest Interstate Highway in the United States, following Interstate 90. The Interstate runs through many major cities including Oakland, California, Sacramento, California, Salt Lake City, Utah, Omaha, Nebraska, Des Moines, Iowa and Toledo, Ohio, and passes within 10 miles (16 km) of Chicago, Illinois, Cleveland, Ohio and New York City, New York.
I-80 is the Interstate highway that most closely approximates the route of the historic Lincoln Highway, the first road across America. The highway roughly traces other historically significant travel routes in the Western United States: the Oregon Trail across Wyoming and Nebraska, the California Trail across most of Nevada and California, the first transcontinental airmail route, and except in the Great Salt Lake area, the entire route of the First Transcontinental Railroad. From near Chicago, Illinois east to near Youngstown, Ohio, Interstate 80 is a toll road, containing the majority of both the Indiana Toll Road and the Ohio Turnpike. I-80 runs concurrent with Interstate 90 from near Portage, Indiana to Elyria, Ohio. In Pennsylvania, I-80 is known as the Keystone Shortway, a non-tolled freeway that crosses rural north-central portions of the state on the way to New Jersey and New York City.
In Wyoming, I-80 reaches its maximum elevation of 8,640 feet (2,633 m) above sea level[3] at Sherman Summit, near Buford, which at 8,000 feet is the highest community on I-80. Farther west in Wyoming, the interstate passes through the dry Red Desert and over the Continental Divide. In a way, the highway crosses the Divide twice, since two ridges of the Rocky Mountains split in Wyoming, forming the Great Divide Basin, from which surface water cannot drain, but can only evaporate.
Interstate 25 (I-25) is a major Interstate Highway in the western United States. It is primarily a north–south highway. I-25 stretches from Interstate 10 at Las Cruces, New Mexico (approximately 25 miles (40 km) north of El Paso, Texas), to Interstate 90 in Buffalo, Wyoming (approximately 60 miles (97 km) south of the Montana/Wyoming border).[2]
Interstate 25 is the main north–south expressway through Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. From north to south, it passes through or near Casper, Wyoming; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Fort Collins, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Pueblo, Colorado; Raton, New Mexico; Las Vegas, New Mexico; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Socorro, New Mexico; Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and Las Cruces, New Mexico. The I-25 corridor is mainly rural, especially in Wyoming, excluding the Albuquerque, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and the Denver areas. The part of I-25 in Colorado passes just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. That stretch was recently involved in a large-scale renovation named the Transportation Expansion Project[3] (TRansportation EXpansion) in Denver, and the COSMIX[4] (Colorado Springs Metropolitan Interstate Expansion). These projects and others in New Mexico were necessary because these stretches of I-25 were inadequately designed and constructed originally (the pavement was deteriorating rapidly), and also because urban areas like Denver, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque had tripled and quadrupled in population much earlier than anyone had anticipated back in the 1950s and 1960s. Major highway work for the T-REX project ended on August 22, 2006. The COSMIX project was completed in December 2007. Several other smaller improvement projects for I-25 are still ongoing within Colorado and New Mexico.
Interstate 25 has many nicknames through the state's larger cities. In Denver it is called the Valley Highway, as the highway parallels the course of the South Platte River throughout the downtown area and is often sunken below ground level. The section in El Paso County is named the Ronald Reagan Highway, and through Pueblo it is named the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway.

I-25 enters Colorado 14 miles (23 km) south of the city of Trinidad. It is the main north–south route through Colorado with a length of 300 miles (480 km). The Interstate exits Colorado in the north about 8 miles (13 km) south of Cheyenne, Wyoming. I-25 serves all the major cities in Colorado that are east of the Rocky Mountains, such as Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins, and Greeley. For the entire distance in Colorado, from the north to the south, the Rocky Mountains are clearly visible.

This trip takes us on the majority of Interstate through Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A. In recent years, the city has expanded towards and somewhat around the Interstate, but for the most part I-80 goes around it. The Interstate is in it's last phase of being expanded to six lanes from Lincoln to Omaha - Lincoln is the last portion that needs to be completed... something like a 10+ year project! Yikes!!!
Back when they first began building the Interstate in the late 50's, I-80 was originally planned to skirt by downtown Lincoln following West O Street and what eventually became Interstate 180. Some people didn't like the idea of a busy interstate going through & ruining the big town feel that had Lincoln at that time, so instead I-80 was diverted NW toward the airport (I-180 was built in it's place to get to Downtown). I tell you, we'd love to have it now... it takes forever sometimes to get around the city (not complaining, though~)!
The speed of I-80 in the rural areas of Nebraska is normally 75mph (121kph). Please enjoy!
Interesting fact: I-80 is one of the few major east-west Interstate corridors in the U.S. Beginning next to Manhattan Island on the east, going through (or by) a number of major cities along it's path (including Chicago, Salt Lake City, Des Moines, the Quad Cities, Toledo, Cleveland, Sacramento, Omaha and Oakland) and ending across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco on the west.
