Mongolia Bayan Olgii Sagsay Naadam Bek's horse,10 years old, which was a present of a good friend, became number four in the race. We all where very happy. I was filming, almost squeezed between a motorcycle (prize 2} and a camel (prize 3) The first prize was one million toekroeks.
Prize 4 was a refrigerator.

Mazaalai, It is the Gobi bear, also known as Mazaalai which are listed as Critically Endangered in the Mongolian Red book of Endangered Species and it is an ancient sub-species of the brown bear. Mazaalai is the only desert dwelling bear, living in the Gobi desert of Mongolia. With less than thirty living individuals, the Gobi bear is on the brink of extinction.

A Journey Through Mongolia (Full Length Documentary)
Mongolia! A Journey through Mongolia is a travel documentary from our one month trip through the great expanses of the Mongolian plains.
We started the trip with a few days in Ulaanbaatar to experience the sprawling metropolis. We also had a chance to go to Hustai National Park not far from UB to see the last remaining wild horse, the Takhi. Then we went on a ten day adventure to go live with the Tsaatan Reindeer Herder tribe in the very north on the border of Siberia. This was an incredible experience and it was very demanding with multiple days on horseback after a long strenuous multi-day 4WD trip. After a short recovery we went to the eastern part of the country to the Bayan-Ölgii Province to attend the Golden Eagle Festival. This festival has really been the focus of the Mongolian travel in recent time, very much because of Aishol-pan the Eagle Huntress. We had a chance to meet this incredible girl who is certainly an inspiration to women across the world. After the festival we went and lived with an eagle hunter family deep in the Altai Mountain Range.

The solo motorcycle adventure continues through breathtaking Mongolia, the riders paradise. Get some work done on the pannier racks in Olgiy and also get some money stolen from my wallet at the house where I was invited to stay as a guest. Past Khovd and Urdgol we get to the lakes Durgun Nuur and Khar Nuur. The dunes are a solo motorcycle rider dream since there was no more road. Had to figure out the route all alone and gained some invaluable offroad riding experience. Find a Mongolian yurt and a family draws me a map of a route that I can follow to Durvuljin. This is the kind of motorcycle solo travel that I expected in the vast open landscapes of Mongolia. This is why we do it!

My name is Pedro Mota and back in 2014 I left the Netherlands on a beautiful Honda Transalp dual sport motorbike on a trip to the east end of Russia in Vladivostok. On the way there we would take a big detour through the Middle East, Central Asia and Mongolia. Little did I know back then that this would evolve into a years long motorbike travel further taking me through Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the American continent.

One of travel’s last frontiers, Mongolia is vast, remote and strikingly beautiful. Nomads still eke out a living on the steppe as they have for centuries, passing down age-old practises of horsemanship, herding and hunting from generation to generation.
In September 2015, A&K Australia’s Managing Director Sujata Raman hosted a group tour to the famous Golden Eagle Festival. Over 10 days, the group visited Ulaanbaatar, the South Gobi Desert and finally Olgii for the Golden Eagle Festival.

SEAT Ateca 20,000km 10 borders to Mongolia for a cycling expedition - Unravel Travel TV
Three SEAT Atecas crossed 10 borders before reaching Mongolia, where they accompanied a cycling expedition made up of brand engineers. They covered 60 km on average every day in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, tackling altitudes of nearly 3,000 metres and 27% slopes. The journey took them successfully over rugged terrain thanks to systems such as 4Drive and the six driving modes.
A nomad on horseback crosses a seemingly endless steppe in one of the least populated countries on the planet. The place is Mongolia, the land where the SEAT Atecas ended up in. The cars made this 20,000 kilometre journey to accompany a group of cyclists, and all the riders and drivers were SEAT employees. These are the highlights of their journey around the former Mongol Empire:
- The adventure begins: “Nerves, visas, ten borders to cross… but most of all great enthusiasm”. This is how Teo García, a 45-year veteran SEAT engineer, defined his emotions before setting out on the trip from Spain to Mongolia. They had to drive their SEAT Atecas over eight thousand kilometres just to get to the city of Ölgiy, in western Mongolia, which was the starting point of their itinerary.
- Plodding through a 6,000 square kilometre national park: six drivers, six cyclists with their bicycles, a doctor, a mechanic and three Atecas make their way to the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. “We were faced with a very demanding circular route where we had to cross immense plains, with lakes and snow-capped peaks as our travelling companions”, recalls Teo.
- Challenging altitudes: in their travel diary, the group of SEAT Martorell employees detail the challenges they came across during the trip. “We went up nearly 3,000 metres in altitude in an area called ‘the 100 lakes’ where we pedalled and drove on bumpy, rocky terrain”. The SEAT Atecas “overcame steep slopes with ease thanks to their all-road capabilities”, pointed out Teo García.
- Dust, mud and night watches: both the changing landscape and weather conditions in Mongolia put the Atecas through their paces, as they had to drive on dry, rocky trails as well as wet, muddy tracks. “During one of the stages there was an impressive storm and we had to improvise a cross-country trek. In order to drive through the mud, we switched over to ‘Snow’ mode, which enables driving in higher gears”. The SUVs worked tirelessly day and night “as they also gave us light from their front end LEDs while we camped out”, says Teo García.
- The adventure ends: the 4Drive traction system and six different driving modes were key components for successfully completing the journey. “Wherever the bicycles were ridden the cars were sure to follow. The Atecas behaved like true all-terrain vehicles”, concludes Teo García. The vehicles returned to their starting point after their month-long adventure.
- Engineers on two wheels: this was the second challenge taken on by this group. Last year they travelled to Siberia to drive on the frozen Lake Baikal which, at 1,642 metres in depth, makes it the deepest lake in the world.
