Walking the Shropshire Hills
Clive went back to the Shropshire hills to explore some of the hills he saw when he walked the Stiperstones. He thought it was going to be 14 miles but it ended up being closer to 18!

The Great Britain VII Days 1, 2 & 3 - Saturday 26th to Monday 28th April 2014
The annual Great Britain railtour was out in 2014 on it's seven incarnation with the usual 9 day trip from London to the South West to Scotland and back to London starting on Saturday 26th April and ending on Sunday 4th May. Much like last year the tour would use steam power in the form of 34046 'Braunton' over the southern route to Exeter however a Diesel was to haul the tour from Exeter St Davids to Truro on day 1. Day 2 saw 5029 'Nunney Castle' & 34046 'Braunton' over the south devon banks with the tour running from Falmouth to Bristol Temple Meads. Day 3 saw the tour with Black 5 44932 at the helm with an early start in the morning at Bristol Temple Meads heading north for it's overnight stop at Grange Over Sands. This videos sees coverage from the first 3 days of the Great Britain.
We start at Crewkerne station for day 1 to see 34046 'Braunton' climbing the short bank running 10 minutes late. We then catch up with 34046 over Honiton Bank, not an impressive performance due to the high wind and the class 47 at the rear giving it a good shove!.
Day 2 starts at a very wet Burlescombe to see 5029 'Nunney Castle' & 34046 'Braunton' climbing to the summit of Whiteball with heading for their water stop at Taunton. An hour later at Cogload Junction the duo are seen racing pass with the last leg to Bristol, scaring the cattle as they pass.
Day 3 starts at Narroways Hill Junction where 44932 attacks Filton Bank in true LMS style with no diesel assistance in sight! The final shot of the video is a place I've always wanted to try, Abergavenny, 44932 passes through as it gets ready to attack the steep banks along the welsh marches.
Apologies for the shoddy camera work during day 1, the wind was a little to strong for me to handle at times!
The Great Britain VII 27th April 2014
The annual Great Britain tour started on the 26th April running though the Southern main line to Exeter where it headed down to Cornwall, The next day the tour started at Falmouth heading to Bristol after that the tour carry on though Wales, England, Scotland then back down England to finish on the 4th May.
I saw the tour on the 27th April hauled by GWR Castle class no.5029 Nunney Castle and some say very strange double header but i think it looks quite cool, SR West Country class no.34046 Braunton. My 1st plan was to head to Cornwall for my very first filming then chase it up to Bristol but with the recent storms to wash away part of the sea wall in February and its back running again, Sunday the line was closed, having not trust the bus replacement service I only done the Exeter to Bristol section.
Started in the Great British weather the duo storms Whiteball bank though Tiverton Parkway station, then over take it at Taunton during the water stop saw them arriving at Bristol Temple Meads to end the day of day 2!
It was going to be day 3 including to this video because i was going to see my first ever mainline trip of 46233 Duchess of Sutherland but failed the week before with an hot box and was not fixed in time to haul Day 3, so with 44932 taking over, i did not bother.
Enjoy!
45690 Leander barks up through Battlefield 22.04.16
Sorry i have been a little quiet, i have been having trouble with my Youtube account again. Hoepfully all the problems have been sorted and i can catch up with peoples videos over the coming week. Anyway my upload today is of LMS Jubilee class No. 45690 Leander hauling the return working of the Salopian express from Dumfries-Shrewsbury and return. I capture Leander at Battlefield very early on into her return journey up toPreston where the steam loco would be detached and class 47s would continue the journey back to Dumfries. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.
North Yorkshire Moors railway Steam gala - April 2014
A visit to the North Yorkshire moors railway steam gala was in order. With the prospect of LNER 4464 Bittern running + the black fives from the ELR 44871 & 45407 and together with the resident fleet including B1 61264 renumbered 61034 Chiru, Lambton tank No. 29 and resident Black five No. 44806. The event looked to be a good one.
Visiting K1 class No. 62005 was reported failed on the Saturday. This did not deter from the fact that it was a superb gala and credit must go to the volunteers on the railay. Locations used in the video were, Green End, Water Ark, Darnholm, Moorgates and Pickering. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.
