Bodrum, a loads-of-character bustling resort, is the ideal base for visiting many of the local beaches and archaeological sites using the wonderful dolmus (bus) service located in the centre of town, and if you are into boats you'll love it here!
Bodrum Harbour and Bodrum Market in Turkey - Attractions in Bodrum
We are in Bodrum, Turkey. Its a hot July summer evening around 20:00, just before sunset, and we are visiting Bodrum Harbour and Bodrum Market the center of the evening nightlife in Bodrum City for holidaymakers and locals alike. Our video begins with a few images of Bodrum Market before the actual footage starts. We start up in the market alleys with their green tree and vine ceilings and move down towards the central harbour where there is a hustle and bustle of activity. People are enjoying a late dinner after a long day at the beach or a day spent exploring Bodrum or the cities surrounding areas (Gumbet Beach, Camel Beach, Ortakent, Bitez Beach etc.).
In the Bodrum Harbor video footage watch out for the ticket area (called Bodrum Ferry Boat Main Office) for the ferry boats which depart from Bodrum Harbour to the island of Kos in Greece, the island of Rhodes in Greece, the island of Kalymnos in Greece and Datça in Turkey (Datca). Next to the Bodrum Ferry Boat Main Office watch out for the footage of Bodrum Castle Museum. This is one of Bodrums main attractions and is very well worth a visit (allow at least 2 hours to walk around in and around the castle walls). The view from the castle walls over the City of Bodrum, its harbour, mountains and the Aegean Sea is spectacular. This Castle was built by the Knights Hospitaller starting in 1402 as the Castle of St. Peter or Petronium.
The video footage then continues down the harbour promenade where you can feel the atmosphere of a warm summer evening and people enjoying their holiday.
