Toronto Travel Guide - Glamorous Canada
Toronto Travel Guide - Glamorous Canada
Toronto is the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. Toronto, with a population of 2.6 million, is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) which contains 6.2 million people. The city is the anchor of the Golden Horseshoe region, which wraps around Lake Ontario from Toronto to Niagara Falls and totals over 8.5 million residents, approximately a quarter of Canada's entire population. Toronto is the fourth largest city and fifth largest urban agglomeration in North America. Toronto is sometimes referred to as The New York City of Canada because the general feel of the city is similar to that of New York City, and because Toronto has been a popular destination for immigrants.
Covering more than 600 square kilometres, Toronto stretches some 32 kilometres along the shores of Lake Ontario, and includes a dense, urban core surrounded by an inner ring of older suburbs followed by an outer ring of post-war suburbs. The city is laid out on a very straightforward grid pattern and streets rarely deviate from the grid, except in cases where topography interferes such as the indented, curved Don River Valley and to a lesser degree the Humber and Rouge valleys at opposite ends of the city. Some main thoroughfares do intersect the grid at angles. The six Toronto districts are:
Old Toronto (Downtown, West End, East End, Midtown, Islands)
Downtown Toronto is the heart of this urban core, with Yonge Street running almost directly in the middle of this district.
Etobicoke
Etobicoke is largely composed of industrial factories and suburban homes. The area is home to Sherway Gardens, Woodbine Racetrack, and St George's Golf Course.
York
York is formerly a separate municipality. It is one of the most ethnically diverse areas of Toronto.
East York
East York was formerly a semi-autonomous borough. It is largely residential, with some commercial and parkland areas.
North York
North York is home to Parc Downsview Park, Canada's first national urban park, Downsview Airport and the North York Performing Arts Centre.
Scarborough
Scarborough is largely suburban, but retains much of its own character and flavour. Because of the topography of the Bluffs, the Rouge Valley, and other creeks and minor tributaries, Scarborough is said to be the greenest and leafiest part of Toronto.
Mississauga, located to the immediate west of Toronto, is a large suburb. Travellers should note that Pearson Airport is technically in Mississauga. Accordingly, some airport-adjacent hotels will have a Mississauga address, and public transport in Mississauga is a separate system from Toronto's, with a separate fee structure.
Toronto is huge, and most roads run for very long distances. Streetcar rail, subway rail, and intercity rail services are clean and efficient but overcrowded, yet it's entirely possible to get around Toronto without a car, especially downtown. You may find it quicker and easier to drive, but be aware that traffic congestion is severe at almost any time of day, especially during rush hour. Toronto has plentiful parking garages downtown, most of which can be identified by the prominent green P signs, but they are very expensive, particularly on weekdays. Toronto is at an angle to geographic north, but most maps are drawn with respect to the shoreline. This is sometimes called Toronto North.

Driving Tour of Toronto
In this Video I had the opportunity of Filming while My Parents, My Nieces and I strolled thru the Busy Streets of Toronto, Ontario, Canada inside our car (Including Downtown and the Outer Parts of the city itself) as the largest city in Canada.
The Neighboorhood Scenes that include in this almost 16 1/2 Minute Video include the Following: Financial District, Garden District, Regent Park, Riverside, East Chinatown, Riverdale, Rosedale, Yorkville, The Annex, Koreatown, Little Italy, Bickford Park, Palmerston, Harbord Village, and Kensington Market.
Before I go any further in this During the entire course of this that's scattered somewhere in this video 4 each time that I had stopped filming u will see many pics that I also shot that day so stay tuned to that.
At the Beginning of this Video after the opening credits r shown we start off while we're still on the Gardener Expressway with the Vast Toronto Skyline (Including the Magnificent Buildings itself) just as we Bay Street North Exit Ramp. Just shortly after we arrived in the Downtown Area we would continue north on University Avenue somewhere in the Financial District.
(Not Shown in this Video:) After going North on University Avenue we would make a Right on Dundas Street West (goin East). (Past 3:30) A While after arriving while Driving on Dundas Street the Video Continues going past Pahler Avenue in Regent Park before at 3:50 we would go North on Broadview Avenue in Riverdale after coming from the Long Stretch from Dundas Avenue East which in this part of scene u can see Riverdale Park as we'll as a part of the Downtown Toronto skyline can be seen while I turned my Camera 2 the left in the middle of this part of the Street.
After I stopped filming at almost 6:30 just before we made the left on Danforth Avenue which can be seen in the distance as we go back to the West (which in that part is not seen in this part of the video) but u can see a pic of The Prince Edward Viaduct immediatly as the Touring continues just as we leave of Crossing the Viaduct itself.
Once after leaving the Viaduct the street becomes Bloor Street East before driving scene changes still on Bloor Street itself tkane somewhere around the Rosedale Section b4 I stopped filming once reaching Sherbourne Street (with a pic included after stopping at the Traffic Light) and Immediatly after the it turned green I would continue 2 resume filming at the same Intersection we stopped in as go back into Downtown Toronto when we stroll thru somewhere in Yorkville.
Around 8:15 we would continue to still go west on Bloor Street West and at this time we set in around in Koreatown b4 the Video shifts at this time goin West on College Street around on Little Italy b4 stopping while reaching at the light and until we made already made going North on Dovercourt Rd at (10:25).
At 11:10 we would go back south on Ossington Avenue around the Bloorcourt Village until we made the left on Harbord Street in Bickford Park going back while pasing thru the Sections of Palmerston and Harbord Village until making a Right on Spadina Avenue going South at 15:10 before passing thru a Circle at 15:45 before we deceided 2 end our driving tour as we deceided 2 park there on Spadina!!!
Girl Stranded on a Deserted Island!
There I was, stranded on a tiny little deserted island in the archipelago of Vava’u - Tonga. However, I did do it to myself. I wanted to see what it would be like to be completely alone. I can’t remember ever being completely alone for longer than a day. EVER! That’s scary. And so were the wasps. Enjoy and tune in Monday for more sailing adventures in the beautiful sunny Pacific Ocean. Xox Elayna.
