When you’re ready to embrace a vacation punctuated by tranquility and warm, tropical breezes, come to Pangkor Laut.
Located just a mile and a half off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Pangkor Laut is a small, privately owned island paradise. It’s just a 40-minute ride via boat from the mainland. Once you arrive, you’re practically guaranteed to leave your cares behind. With its lush rainforest and quiet, pristine beaches, Pangkor Laut sightseeing almost always involves relaxing amidst the beauty of nature.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the island’s lone accommodation. When you stroll through Pangkor Laut Resort, you’ll see a place designed to blend in with its natural surroundings. Stay in a suite or a villa, or book a night in one of the small houses that stand on stilts over the warm waters of the Malacca Strait.

Taken from Pangkor Laut Resort:
Nestled amidst an ancient rainforest, on a private island fringed by white sandy beaches and emerald waters lies Pangkor Laut Resort. Set along the Straits of Malacca, three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia, discover a piece of paradise 2 million years in the making.
Of the island's 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house this peaceful luxury resort and its Estates. Declared a paradise by the late Pavarotti and previously voted 'Number One in the World' by Condé Nast Traveller; here, wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest, walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky.
Resting beneath the shade of forest giants as old as the land, this island is not only home to one of the world’s premier resorts but also to variety of wildlife. Long-tailed macaques and oriental pied hornbills perch in the branches above while white-bellied sea eagles soar overhead and large monitor lizards sunbathe on the island’s rocky outcrops.
The Strait of Malacca:
The Strait of Malacca or Straits of Malacca is a narrow, 550 mi stretch of water between the Malay Peninsula and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. As the main shipping channel between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, it is one of the most important shipping lanes in the world.
About Malaysia:
To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia - a bubbling, bustling melting-pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony. Malaysia’s multiculturalism has made this country a gastronomical paradise and home to hundreds of colourful festivals. It's no wonder that malaysians love celebrating and socialising. As a people, Malaysians are very relaxed, warm and friendly.
Geographically, Malaysia is almost as diverse as its culture. 11 states and 2 federal territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) form Peninsular Malaysia which is separated by the South China Sea from East Malaysia which includes the 2 states (Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo) and a third federal territory, the island of Labuan.
