I packed up my jeep...outfitted to sleep and live in for 1 week and head out from Halifax after work.
I took the ferry across and camped out on a beach until morning.
I started at the eastern end of the Island....So beautiful. In one of the little towns I passed through, I stopped at a local Sobeys for some food. It was Local Grown days and I was given a free lunch of Potatoes, yellow beans, Corn and beef stew. So Yummy!
After Completing the Eastern part, I head to Charlottetown, to see family and explore Central PEI.
The Western end of PEI is all very new to me, and I head off to explore. One thing that I notice as I head to North Cape....there are not as many beaches. But Thunder Cove featuring the Teacup Rock is along this route
After North Cape, I make my way to West Point as the sun is setting.
In Summerside, I find a spot by the Marina thanks to freecampsites.net and settle in for the night.
In the morning I walk around the Marina and watch some folks on the water Obstacle. I explore some parks, and beach and head back towards Charottetown to just about complete the loop.
I pick up my sister and drive towards Point Prim, and then a bit further east to close the loop and camp out on a beach....enjoying Island Life!!
I Explored quite a few of the Provincial Parks (15+), Over 20 Beaches, and close to 10 Lighthouse buildings. I will post some videos to show some of these and what they have to offer.
I also did this entire trip in my jeep...finding beaches and free campsites that I will feature in my blog soloexploreblog.wordpress.com

I took a tour of the factory where they make the world-famous PEI Dirt Shirts that are colored with real red dirt from Prince Edward Island. The factory is in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Shot in September 2017.

One of my favourite parks on PEI. A the tip of the Malpeque bay sits this little gem. Its a lovely day park and has nice tent, small camper and large RV sites that are quiet. The red cliffs, sand pipers and the surf will sing you to sleep.

Along the harbor, you’ll discover The Fishermen’s Memorial, known as The Man at the Wheel, built in 1923 to commemorate the town’s 300th anniversary, and the Cenotaph that lists thousands of local fishermen lost at sea. Nearby, The Fishermen’s Wives Memorial was unveiled in 2001, to honor the wives and families of those fishermen, for their “faith, diligence, and fortitude.”

To complete your day at sea, enjoy locally sourced seafood from one of over 75 restaurants on the island. Head to the hundred-year-old Woodman’s of Essex, for traditional New England lobsters and scenic views of the Essex River and salt marshes. Make sure to taste their legendary fried clams – Woodman’s was the inventor of the fried clam back in 1916!
