Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) - Bangkok Bike Tour of Phra Pradaeng (and Lunch)
A Bangkok bike tour of Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) in Phra Pradaeng (พระประแดง) makes an excellent day trip. Read more of my Bangkok travel tips here:
Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า), or the larger area of Phra Pradaeng (พระประแดง), is known as Bangkok's green lunch. It's not an island, but it's a section of land that's separated from major Bangkok by being within a horseshoe in the river. The piece of land is just across the river from Bangkok city, but it's such a world of difference. Characterized by trees, green spaces, low homes and neighborhoods, and a network of canals and elevated walking paths creates the perfect environment for a Bangkok bike tour. The first step getting to Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) is to first take a taxi to Wat Khlong Toei Nok temple, located in the Khlong Toei area of Bangkok and right along the Chao Phraya river. For just 10 baht you can then board a small boat that will ferry you across the Chao Phraya to Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า), a whole new world. The ride takes just a few minutes.
Once you've arrived to Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า), you can then rent a bicycle as soon as you get off the boat. The bikes for rent cost 50 Thai Baht per hour or 100 Thai Baht per day - I think it's worth it to go for the whole day - and you might end up staying longer than you expected - so go for the day rental! After getting out trusty bicycles ready, we started off following the road enroute to the main park that's located within Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า). It took just about 10 minutes or less to reach the designated park where you can enter and ride and walk around for free. The park is nicely maintained and there's a large lake in the middle. But the park is not the only place to ride in Phra Pradaeng (พระประแดง). One of my favorite parts of the area is riding along the elevated concrete paths. They are raised above the ground as the ground can be muddy and flooded, but the paths provide an awesome form of transportation. They are just wide enough to have a Bangkok bike tour on them comfortably. Another interesting aspect of biking around are the many temples which are all around. You can stop off at a variety of temples when you're biking along. Also, if you go to Phra Pradaeng (พระประแดง) on the weekend, you can bike to Bang Nam Pheung (ตลาดน้ำบางน้ำผึ้ง) floating market ( After biking around for a few hours we decided to stop at a relaxing restaurant for some Thai food lunch. There are many Thai restaurants to eat at throughout Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) when you're taking a Bangkok bike tour - you'll have no problem finding food or drinks.
A Bangkok bike tour of Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) and Phra Pradaeng (พระประแดง) is one of the best things to do in Bangkok! It's a great affordable attraction and offers not only some exercise from all the Thai street food, but also a time to relax and enjoy nature.

How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )
How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )
For more information: covankessel.com
In this video we explain you how to use the Chao Phraya Express Boat. This is a really convenient transport to use in Bangkok to beat the traffic and it’s also a lot of fun. Use the river in Bangkok instead of the busy streets and beat the traffic.
There are 5 different colored boats you can take, but to not confuse you, we only recommend 2 of them. The orange boat and the blue boat.
We use the example to use the Orange Flag Boat from N13 to N3 Si Phraya to get to our office at Co van Kessel
This video is part of a web series about Bangkok and in this series we show you how to get around in Bangkok, Thailand.

Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.
Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.
Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.
Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.
What we do
Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.
We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.
Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

Unseen Bangkok - Phra Phadaeng Park and Floating Market
Phra Phadaeng Bangkok - Today we will show you an unforgettable day trip to Phra Phadaeng in Bangkok, away from the tourist centers. On this trip you can even beat 2 birds with one stone. You will be surprised at what Bangkok has to offer.
Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market
The Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is the first spot away from the tourist paths we would like to introduce to you. This is located just outside the city, to say exactly in Phra Pradaeng. This district belongs to the province of Samut Prakan, on the south-eastern outskirts of Bangkok.
Floating Markets, there are some in Bangkok and the surrounding area, such as The Kwan-Riam Floating Market and Sen Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. But today we introduce you to the Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market, which most tourists do not know.
The market is mainly visited by locals, during our stay we have only seen 3 tourists, which is for a Sunday extremely little. You will find here countless food stands and souvenir shops, where you get really good Thai food, for a very low price. The dishes usually start at 30 Baht. The food is cooked on most boats directly on the boat and then you are served. There are enough seats around.
The market is something to eat, a few supplies to buy and something to relax, but you have seen relatively quickly everything and should promptly move on, because in the area of the Bang Na, Phueng Floating Markets in Bangkok, is the real highlight , Which we would like to introduce to you, the Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park And Botanical Garden.

Visiting Grand Palace, Building Complex in Bangkok, Thailand, Not For Nothing Track
The Grand Palace (Thai: พระบรมมหาราชวัง, rtgs: Phra Borom Maha Ratcha Wang[1]) is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The king, his court and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925. The present monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), currently resides at Chitralada Palace, but the Grand Palace is still used for official events. For more info, visit this link:

THE GRAND PALACE: Bangkok, Thailand
From the lost files of Bangkok. This was our last day in Bangkok and we decided to spend in at The Grand Palace. The structures and the history behind it are amazing to say the least. Overall Thailand was probably one of our favourite vacations and we would definitely recommend it.

Thailand, Thai: ราชอาณาจักรไทย , officially the Kingdom of Thailand, is a country located at the center of Southeast Asia.
