Nestled right against the border between Virginia and North Carolina, historic Caswell County offers a bounty of colorful tales in the town of Yanceyville, NC. The most striking of these historic tales come from the town's courthouse, a beautiful piece of architecture built in the early 1800's and designed by William Percival. The courthouse held the historic trial of Henrietta Jeffries. Jeffries was born a slave, and her trial in the Yanceyville courthouse is just one of several intriguing tales of Caswell County history in this episode of NC Weekend.

How not to visit MAINE: Portland, Bar Harbor, and not enough time - Traveling Robert
Lessons learned about how not to visit a large state like Maine. First we didn't allocate nearly enough time. Second, it was foggy when we went to see the first sunrise in the USA. Third, campground screwed up our reservation. At that point I gave up and decided to go back some other time. Lobster breakfast in Bar Harbor was great.
