Porthcawl is a town and community on the south coast of Wales in the county borough of Bridgend, 25 miles west of the capital city, Cardiff and 19 miles southeast of Swansea. Historically part of Glamorgan and situated on a low limestone headland on the South Wales coast, overlooking the Bristol Channel, Porthcawl developed as a coal port during the 19th century, but its trade was soon taken over by more rapidly developing ports such as Barry. Northwest of the town, in the dunes known as Kenfig Burrows, are hidden the last remnants of the town and Kenfig Castle, which were overwhelmed by sand about 1400.

Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is a golf club in Wales in the United Kingdom, located north of Porthcawl and bordering the Bristol Channel. The club has hosted many prestigious tournaments including The Amateur Championship on six occasions, the Walker Cup in 1995, the Curtis Cup in 1964, the British Masters in 1961, and European Tour event, the Welsh Golf Classic in the early 1980s. In March 2010, it hosted the University Golf Match between Oxford and Cambridge universities, with Oxford winning 9–6. Visiting Wales - A Winter Road Trip To Mid Wales

A trip to the Mid Wales Coast and a stay at Nanteos Country House Hotel.
On this Welsh Road Trip we drive from South Wales to the Mid Wales coast.

First we call at New Quay, a littles seaside town in Ceredigion, Mid Wales. Dylan Thomas lived here during the war and it was used as a location for the film about him “Edge of Love’ starring Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley.

After New Quay we drive up the coast the the town of Aberaeron, which was particularly windy with a storm coming in. We then move up to Aberystwyth.

Because of the weather we go straight to the hotel for the night - Nanteos Country House Hotel which is about 10 minutes from the centre of Aberystwyth.
The hotel, Nanteos Mansion also known Plas Nanteos is an 18th-century grade listed building in its own grounds.

After a stay and dinner in a massive room at Nanteos we go back into Aberystwyth early Sunday morning to have a look at the castle.

Before we drive back to South Wales we stop off at Devil's Bridge. The waterfalls at Devils Bridge have attracted visitors since the 18th century, including William Wordsworth and the artist J. M. W. Turner.

Some quick tips about visiting the castles of Wales during your trip to Wales and the UK. You can also read more and find the links on our website

Wales is famous for its castles, it has over 600 of them in various states of repair from grassy mounds with a few protruding stones to full medieval masterpieces just like the ones you see in the films.

If you plan your visit to Wales and rent a car you can get to see quite a few castles including the ones in the dramatic out of the way locations. Many of these castles are free to enter as well.

For more information about Welsh castles it is worth looking at the Cadw website. They manage many of the historic sites across Wales

I created all of these exciting videos, of destinations and attractions, because I have a love and a passion for travel, I have created these videos with the Video Editor, for people, that like to view and read travel channels. I have also created and designed, these videos for people who want to look and read a pros and con's review. before travelling to a destination or attraction in the UK.

Each place that I have travelled, to has a video, down below a pros and cons from my personal experience. I have listed, where the best places:

I have created a video playlist for each county, that I have travelled to in the UK.Down below each video playlist, I have given information about the county and the different places I have visited.
