Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) Fervenza do Toxa
The Toxa waterfall is a waterfall located in the parish of Pazos , in the municipality of Silleda , in the province of Pontevedra . The river that causes the waterfall is the Toxa river , which overlooks its waters by an altitude of more than 60 meters . The waterfall, along with the monastery of Carboeiro , is situated in a natural landscape of great landscape value in the region of Deza , linked to the river courses of the Deza , Liñares , Ulla and Arnego rivers .
The monument that stands out in the region is the monastery of San Lourenzo de Carboeiro , founded in the 10th century by the counts of Deza. Another piece that can be visited is the church of Breixa , although its external aspect is not excessively attractive, in its interior it is possible to observe its apse and the ornamentation of its capitals . In this region there are still remains of Romanization that materialize on roads , mines or bridges such as Merza. Another monument is the medieval bridge of Taboada , through which the pilgrims passwho make the Vía da Prata .
On the outskirts of this waterfall we can also find a riverside forest that, due to the softness of the climate and the high humidity of the environment, has a large amount of fungi and liqueurs . Near this place we can also see the Sacra de Olives lagoon , which presides over the valley of the Curantes river or the small waterfall of the Kiss of Curants , near Pena do Foxo . In the lower course of the Arnego, before reaching the Ulla, small but very important cork oak spots are located , most of them to obtain crust .

Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) As Catedrais Beach
Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) As Catedrais Beach
As Catedrais beach translates as 'Beach of the Cathedrals'. It is the turistic name of Praia de Augas Santas. The Spanish beach is located in the Ribadeo municipality, in the province of Lugo (Galicia), on the Cantabric coast, and it lies about ten kilometres to the west from the town of Ribadeo. Its name is derived from the formations of its cliffs.
As Catedrais Beach has been declared a Natural Monument by the regional Ministry for the Environment of the Xunta de Galicia. The place's more characteristic features are its natural arches and caves, which can be seen only in low tide. During high tide, the beach appears quite small, but is still suitable to go for a swim.
High tide is an interesting time to visit the place and wander over the top of the cliffs, from West to East, heading to the Esteiro Beach. During low tide you can appreciate the size of its magnificent cliffs and the picturesque sea caves, which go from small cracks on the rock to big caves whose roofs collapse due to the erosion of the waves.
Also during low tide you can gain access to a sand deposit delimited by a rocky wall made from slate and schist of strange and complex forms: more than 30-meters-tall arches which remind to cathedral flying buttresses, dozen-meters-long caves, sand corridors between rocky blocks and many other curiosities. When low tide is lower than usual, you can access the nearby beaches through the sand extension. However, it is advisable to be back before the water starts to cover the As Catedrais beach again, which happens very quickly, since the coast stretch is almost horizontal.

Espana Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Espana.
We begin our journey in the Spanish province of Galicia. The Romans conquered San Diago de Compostela, a harbour city that has always been associated with the sea and since the Middle Ages it was, apart from Jerusalem and Rome, the most important pilgrimage destination in Christendom. Some centuries ago each of the large villages of the Rias Baixas prospered due to fishing as did Pontevedra whose old town has been well-preserved with cobbled streets, intimate squares and the residential palaces of the city`s former elite. Vigo is reminiscent of Liverpool in the United Kingdom and is the largest city in Galicia. In 1529 the city began to trade with South America and this brought with it a new wave of prosperity. Then followed the Industrial Revolution which gave rise to a modern commercial city with a huge fishing industry. Madrid is Europe’s most geographically elevated metropolis, a royal capital of history, outstanding buildings and cultural treasures. Madrid has a boulevard that has transformed it into a major metropolis, the Gran Via, which compares in both design and dimensions with the exquisite streets of Paris and New York. Toledo is one of the oldest and proudest cities in Spain where during Roman times one of the greatest settlements was established, not surprising as it is located on a mighty rock foundation which served a useful purpose for its eventual defence. Barcelona is one of the most lively harbour cities on the Mediterranean and, after Madrid, Spain’s second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. On the wide and shady boulevard of La Rambla that passes through the old town to the harbour, life goes on both day and night. The Costa Del Sol is the name of the southern Mediterranean coast of Spain. In former times a variety of bumpy roads connected this region’s sandy bays and remote fishing villages where once the Phoenicians and Romans settled long before the arrival of the Moors. Malaga, Seville, Cordoba and finally Granada, the conclusion of our journey through a world of rocky coastlines and sandy beaches, magnificent cities and Moorish castles, an atmospheric land steeped in a wealth of history.

3 things about Ourense | CaminoWays.com
The city of Ourense, ancient 'Auria' for the Romans, is the starting point of the last section of the Via de la Plata route of the Camino de Santiago. Probably one of the most beautiful last sections of the Camino de Santiago routes.
'There are three things in Ourense, you won't find anywhere else in Spain', a popular saying goes: the Santo Cristo, the Roman Bridge and the Burgas hot water fountain. But there is much more than three things that will captivate you when you visit Galicia's thermal city.
-Thermal Waters
The city owes its name to its past as a gold mine but today, gold gone, Ourense's hot springs and thermal waters remain its most unique attraction, to locals and tourists alike. They can be found all over the city and many can be enjoyed free of charge. The most iconic is the thermal spring fountain of As Burgas (65°C), in the city centre.
There are four thermal areas in a stretch of merely three kilometres, on the right-hand bank of the river: A Chavasqueira public pools of hot mineral and medicinal waters (41ºC), then the thermal spring of O Tinteiro (43ºC) with waters believed to help alleviate skin problems, two kilometres ahead is Burgo do Muíño das Veigas (waters 65ºC to 72ºC) with four public thermal pools and the last one is Outariz (61ºC), with four pools recommended for sufferers of rheumatism and arthritis.
The pools open all year round, with a combination of public open-air baths and private areas.
-City of water and bridges
There are eight bridges over the River Miño, as it crosses the city of Ourense. The most famous one is Ourense's Roman bridge, from the first century, also known as the Old Bridge (Ponte Vella) or the Big Bridge (Ponte Maior). The bridge underwent some renovation work in the 12th and 13th centuries, as well as its final one in the 17th century. Seven of the 11 original bridge arches still remain today and the bridge is a pedestrian-only area since 1989.
-The Santo Cristo
Ourense's cathedral, also known as Saint Martin's Basilica, is home to the Santo Cristo, among other things. The Santo Cristo figure was originally brought from Fisterra to Ourense in the XIV century by Don Vasco Pérez Mariños, who was the city's bishop at the time.
Also in the cathedral, you can admire the 13th century Pórtico del Paraíso and the permanent nativity scene in the chapels of San Cosme and San Damián.
-More to explore
Once you have visited Ourense's three most famous attractions, it is time to discover many other things about Ourense that will make you love the city. Take some time to explore the old town and walk around its charming pedestrian streets and quintessentially Galician granite squares, dotted with fountains, 'cruceiros' (crosses) and statues dedicated to some of Ourense's most famous writers. Stroll along the arches of the main square, home to the city hall and Episcopal Palace, where the main festivities in the city take place. There are many more chapels, churches and monuments to visit in the city, such as the convent of Saint Francis and the archaeology museum, but if you more inclined to relax in a green space or stretch the legs and watch the world go by, head for the Alameda park or the Parque do Posío botanic gardens.
Take a break to taste traditional Galician cooking in one of the many bars and restaurants in the old town, and you shouldn't leave without having a sip of Ourense's best juices.
Ourense's wine might not be as well known abroad as Albariño but the province has four 'Denominación de Orixe' (Origin Designation) wine labels of great quality: Ribeiro, Valdeorras, Ribeira Sacra and Monterrei.
-Festivals in Ourense
A handy tip for walkers will be to avoid Ourense in the Summer as it gets some of the highest temperatures in Europe.
Spring and Autumn are probably the best seasons to enjoy Ourense, and during this time of the year, you will find colourful festivals on your Camino de Santiago from Ourense:
-Ourense's 'magosto' is probably one of the most famous in Galicia. Magosto is a traditional Autumn celebration in Galicia, when friends and groups gather to enjoy roasted chestnuts and welcome to the winter season. Ourense's public Magosto celebration takes place on 11th November, San Martiño's Day, in the main square.
-Os Maios, a pre-Roman festival to welcome the Spring. Held on the third of May.
-International Cinema Festival in November
-A Bela Auria festival in September celebrating Ourense's history and traditions.
-Ourense Festival in June, starting in Corpus Christi.
-Carnival is also a very popular festival in Galicia and Ourense province is particularly famous for its ancient Carnival traditions.
