10. Raja Ampat Islands
Located off the northwest tip of the island of New Guinea, Raja Ampat (the Four Kings) is a fast archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands and cays. Marine surveys suggest that the marine life diversity around the Raja Ampat islands is the highest recorded on Earth making it one of the most famous dive destinations in the world. The staggering abundance of marine life is due in part to its incredibly low human population density.
9. Tanjung Puting National Park
The Tanjung Puting National Park is located on the island of Borneo in the Indonesian province of Central Kalimantan. The park is a popular ecotourism destination, with many local tour companies offering multi-day boat tours to view wildlife and visit the research centers. Wildlife include gibbons, macaques, clouded leopards, sun bears,
8. Flores Island
Lying to the east of Sumbawa and to the west of Lembata in Nusa Tenggara, the long island of Flores offers an array of natural and cultural sights. The most famous attraction in Flores is the Kelimutu volcano caldera, which has three lakes fed by volcanic gas that change color according to the amount of oxidation in the water.
7. Torajaland
Torajaland (Tana Toraja) is a highland region of South Sulawesi, home of the Toraja people. Torajans are famous for their massive peaked-roof houses known as tongkonan and spectacular but gruesome funeral rites. After a person’s death, the body is kept – often for several years – until the actual funeral ceremony, which can last for several days.
6. Bukit Lawang
Bukit Lawang is a small village situated at the eastern side of Gunung Leuser National Park about 90 kilometers northwest of Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra. A rehabilitation center for orangutans was founded here in 1973. The main purpose is to preserve the decreasing number of orangutan population due to hunting and deforestation.
5. Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

4. Lombok
Lombok is often compared to its closest neighbor: Bali. The island has the same kind of beautiful beaches and volcanic scenery as Bali, with less commercialism and fewer crowds making it one of the best places to visit in Indonesia. The island’s northern area is dominated by the enormous volcano of Gunung Rinjani, and trekking at least part of the way up is the reason many tourists visit Lombok.
3. Komodo National Park
Encompassing both Rinca Island, Komodo Island and a number of smaller islets, the Komodo National Park is world famous as the habitat of the Komodo Dragons, giant carnivorous monitor lizards that can reach up to 3 meters (10 feet) in length. The reptiles roam freely over the islands, and visitors rely on experienced tour guides for sightings and to keep them safe. Komodo National Park is also famous as a world-class scuba diving destination.
2. Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some 500,000 people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, due to its proximity to the famous temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The city itself is a center of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. Yogyakarta lies in one of the most seismically active parts of Java and has thus repeatedly been struck by earthquakes and volcano eruptions. In 2006 an earthquake flattened over 300,000 houses while in 2010 the nearby volcano of Mount Merapi erupted, spewing lava over nearby villages.
1. Bali
Bali is one of the world’s most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards. The varied landscape, rugged coastlines, tropical beaches, lush rice terraces and volcanic hillsides all provide a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, deeply spiritual and unique Hindu culture. The combination of friendly people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali the most popular tourist destination in Indonesia.

WE FOUND A HIDDEN PARADISE (KOMODO NATIONAL PARK).
Seriously, it's one of the best places we have ever been to and WE want to call it hidden paradise.
The second part of exploring the Komodo national park. This time we chose to do one day trip, but you also can choose 1night 2days trip (we think it would be better because you can visit more that way and the beauty of the national park are stunning). So our plan was to hike to Padar viewpoint, to see the Komodo dragons, snorkeling, pink beach and one more time snorkeling at manta viewpoint. The price of this one day trip for one person is 450 000IDR (32€) and the entrance fee to Komodo National Park is 320 000IDR (23€). They gave us fins, lunch box(the worst lunch ever) and 1,5l water. The ship was older than we thought and we were 11 tourists in that bout. It takes two and a half hour to reach the Padar island and then 30minutes trekking to the viewpoint. Padar Island is the third largest land mass within the Komodo National Park and can be found between Komodo and Rinca Island (both home to Komodo Dragons). About halfway up there is a rocky outcrop that gives you a vantage point of 4 beaches. This is probably the most popular spot to get amazing shots from. This trek is definitely more about the views than a tough hike. From start to finish it took us only 20-30 minutes. Don't forget to take water with you and it's better to hike with trainers or hiking shoes. After Padar island we went to Komodo island to do trekking to see Komodo dragons. Komodo dragons are large species of lizards found in the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Padar. They can grow up to a maximum length of 3,5 meters and weight up to approximately 70 kg. Komodo dragons are carnivores also they are cannibals, they eat each other. They eat mostly carrion, but also pigs, goat, deer, roes, snakes, birds. The dragons live about 50-60 years. We saw 4 komodo dragons which were pretty big and scary. Their venom is toxic. If Komodo dragons bite you, immediately must go to the hospital. If you won't reach the hospital in two days you might be dead. The last stop was Manta point. There were two mantas doing circles near the surface. We fastly put fins, mask and jumped into the water. They were so huge. One of the most amazing creatures met underwater, so graceful and playful at the same time!

Things to do in Flores, Indonesia
A short travelogue about our week on the Island of Flores in Indonesia. A beautiful island, and a real change of pace, compared to Bali. It's also a great launching spot from which to visit Rinca and Komodo, so you too can come face to face with the Komodo Dragon. It's a great area for snorkelling too.
