Mortimer Ghost Town in North Carolina
Once a thriving lumber town in the early 1900's it was devastated by a fire and flood in 1916 and once again in 1940. The area today is part of Pisgah National Forest and nature is reclaiming much of the place. Wilson Creek is a nice place to take in the nature and with an array of outdoor activities to do. As I roamed around the area I could see traces from the old town. Check out the links to learn more on the history:

Appalachian Trail State Overview: North Carolina
In this video I will discuss the North Carolina section of the Appalachian Trail. I'll go over my experiences in North Carolina from places I stayed, info on towns I passed though, trail conditions, random stories and anything else I could think about while I was out in the NC section of the trail! Grab a cup of coffee, watch it on the treadmill at the gym, throw it on the TV for the whole family to enjoy. This is going to be a long one for a very specific type of person!i
This video technically talks a little about Tennessee as well since the trail weaves in and out of both North Carolina and Tennessee but this video will cover from the GA/NC state border to Hot Springs North Carolina
These videos were also pretty highly requested but also take a VERY long time to prep for and make sure I could find footage and get my information correct. While I would like to make one of these for every Appalachian Trail state it is going to depend how well these videos are received. If I get a lot of positive feedback I will try to push forward with the next one. We will see! Hope you enjoy this one!

Beautiful Western North Carolina, Beautiful
God has created an awesome wonder in western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains converge in this area. There are many scenic drives, such as the Cherohala Skyway, Tail of the Dragon, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and many others. There are many state and national parks that are a must-see. The back-road scenic drive from Colletsville to Blowing Rock is a great place to experience the wonders of a mountain stream called Wilson Creek. Cataloochee Valley is a great place to view wildlife such as the roaming elk. Maggie Valley is a great take-off point, as is Blowing Rock, Robbinsville, and Andrews. Fall is the best time to visit this area for the wonderful Fall Foliage experience. Grandfather Mountain and Mount Mitchell are two of the most scenic mountains in the eastern United States. Lake Lure, the site for the lake scenes of Dirty Dancing, is a great scenic walk with the lake and the mountains for a background. This area is truly one of the most beautiful in the United States. It is a great place to experience the beautiful handiwork of our Father who art in Heaven. God's not dead! He's still here! He's just hiding in the mountains waiting on true seekers.
