The Demino Ski Marathon is a cross-country skiing marathon in Russia. It has been held since 2007 and was appointed as a Worldloppet event in June 2012. It is the most popular ski race in Russia . The Demino Ski Marathon is a member of the Russialoppet since 2008. The main distance is 50 km free style, in one or two laps. The race is held on Ski Center Demino, near Rybinsk city. The ski marathon is a part of the Demino Cup, which includes also a cross-country cycling marathon and running half-marathon. The marafon was cancelled only once in 2014 due to lack of snow. Winners

From the fourteenth to the sixteenth centuries it was member of the German Hanse and in the middle of the seventeenth century a shipyard was built for warships and merchant ships, which led to the prosperity of the city. On the banks of the Venta River is the only castle of the Order Of The Princedom Of Kurzeme, built by the Livonian Order at the end of the thirteenth century. The harbour has been well-developed and boasts a long history, from the Wenden Tribe and the Crusaders, right up to the present day. A trip around the harbour highlights the fact that Ventspils is the most important port in Latvia and from where oil from Siberia is loaded as well as chemical products and also wood and fish. After the Northern War and a devastating plague, the city lay in ruins and the harbour, unused. However, following the extension of the harbour at the end of the nineteenth century, life returned. When, in 1904, a rail link was opened to Moscow and Rybinsk, the harbour became important once again. In this region, people have always lived by the sea and the ice-free harbour gave rise to Ventspils’ deserved prosperity.

From Nizhny Novgorod I'm beginning to get acquainted with the ancient cities of Kievan Rus and the Golden Ring of Russia. From there I will switch to another ancient city of Vladimir. After that I'll visit a small and quiet Suzdal, I'll travel thru Ivanovo with cool dudes on their BMW X5. After that, Yaroslav finally going to visit the city of Yaroslavl, from there dropping into a little town of Rostov Velikiy. Then there will be several hours in Moscow and direct car up to Pskov, which is located in the western part of the country.

Yachts and private boats ply the river while a predominantly forested landscape is increasingly punctuated by residential, industrial and mining developments.The Volga is the longest river in Europe; it is also Europe's largest river in terms of discharge and watershed. It flows through central Russia and is widely viewed as the national river of Russia. Eleven of the twenty largest cities of Russia, including the capital, Moscow, are situated in the Volga's drainage basin. Some of the largest reservoirs in the world can be found along the Volga. The river has a symbolic meaning in Russian culture and is often referred to as Волга-матушка Volga-Matushka (Mother Volga) in Russian literature and folklore.
The Volga River is the longest river in Europe. It belongs to the closed basin of the Caspian Sea. Rising in the Valdai Hills 225 meters (738 ft) above sea level northwest of Moscow and about 320 kilometers (200 mi) southeast of Saint Petersburg, the Volga heads east past Lake Sterzh, Tver, Dubna, Rybinsk, Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kazan. From there it turns south, flows past Ulyanovsk, Tolyatti, Samara, Saratov and Volgograd, and discharges into the Caspian Sea below Astrakhan at 28 meters (92 ft) below sea level. At its most strategic point, it bends toward the Don (the big bend). Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, is located there.

Yeah, it's a pretty dreary country, but you might as well make the best of it if you're living here. And we do: traveling is always fun, especially considering the fact that Russia still has a load of abandoned places left over after the Soviet Union's collapse.Since the original vid was 2 gigs, we had to squeeze it down to about 200 mb, and as a result there are some quality issues.
