The Caribbean is a region that consists of the Caribbean Sea, its islands, and the surrounding coasts. The region is southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the North American mainland, east of Central America, and north of South America.
Saint Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. It's known for cloud-shrouded mountains and beaches. Many of its former sugar plantations are now inns or atmospheric ruins. The larger of the 2 islands, Saint Kitts, is dominated by the dormant Mount Liamuiga volcano, home to a crater lake, green vervet monkeys and rainforest crisscrossed with hiking trails.

Basseterre is the largest town and the port of the Caribbean Island St Kitts. It has about 15,000 inhabitants who have worked together to mend the damage they had from the storm which was mainly fences and superficial. The island is now financially helping it's neighbours like St Maarten who were hit harder. Doris takes you to all the main points of the town and nearly gets reprimanded for ringing the town bell. Travel In St Kitts, Caribbean
Travel around St Kitts with Wanderlust Chloe. St Kitts in the Caribbean is a paradise island packed full of things to do. Featuring zip-lining and rainforest treks, checking out the old forts and sugar plantations and long lazy days sunbathing on the beach!

In April 2016 I was asked to be an ambassador for St Kitts. I couldn’t wait to get straight out to the Caribbean and explore the island for myself. In this video I take you on a tour of the island, so if you’re planning a visit, this will certainly inspire you!
First stop, a visit to Brimstone Hill, the island’s old fortress. Then it’s up to Bellemont Farm, a part of Kittitian aHill. This is the uber luxury accommodation on the island with great views and sitting in the shadow of Mount Liamuiga.
You can’t have a holiday in the Caribbean and not try the rum punch. Thankfully there were plenty of chances to enjoy it, usually with an amazing view of the sea.
We spent an afternoon at Cockleshell Beach where we enjoyed a spot of sunbathing and kayaking.
I loved the rainforest hike and zip-lining. It was a great way to explore the less visited parts of the island, and get that hit of adrenaline too! It was also interesting checking out Ottley’s Plantation Inn. Sugar was the main industry on the island for a long time and the old plantations are fascinating to look around.
Basseterre, the capital of St Kitts, is lively, colourful and where you’ll find most of the island’s shops, cafes and markets. One of the most authentic Caribbean experiences was checking out the fishermen as they prepped their catches of the day on the beach.
One of my favourite adventures of the week was hopping on a private catamaran and heading snorkelling. We snorkelled with turtles and tropical fish, then stopped at the island of Nevis for rum punch!
We finished our week by travelling on the St Kitts Scenic Railway around the island. It’s a great way to see parts of the island you can’t reach by car.

In the channel between Saint Kitts and Nevis, scuba divers explore Booby Island, with its numerous jackfish and snapper. Theres hiking through Nevis Peaks cloud forest, which has views all the way to nearby Montserrat. On northern Nevis, Pinneys Beach draws snorkellers to see its black coral and parrotfish.
