Sareyn سرعين is known for its hot springs. The population is about 8,000, and increases to more than 20,000 in the summer because of the many tourists who go there due to the charming climate. It stands 28 km from Ardabil and total area is 1.28 square km. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,478, in 1,135 families.
The Sareyn springs are near an inactive volcano in mount Sabalan and its water contains sulfur particles and it is believed that it is good for bone and joint pains.
The word Sareyn in the Persian dictionary means Spring's Outlet.
The climate and hot springs are the first attractions to tourists who travel to this region from different parts of Iran and the world.
Sareyn is also famous for its 'Ashe Doogh آش دوغ' (Yogurt Soups), during the busy summer periods, it is not uncommon for many of the local shops to be seen selling and preparing this soup.
Hot springs (spa) have always been in Sarein but the 1990s earthquake caused some of them to get colder or hotter. The water is heated largely by the Sabalan سبلان mountain which is Iran's second highest mountain after Damavand دماوند.
Many tourists visit Sabalan. Its most interesting feat is the 'crater' top which contains a lake of acidic water.
Sareyn is also very famous for its honey, again like the soup, many of Sareyn's shops sell honey which is produced locally by the Bee keepers of the area.
There are 9 hot springs in Sarein, with 'Gavmesh Goli گاوميش گلي' being the hottest, with water reaching 67°C (152.6°F), and turning out around 80 liters per second (21 US gal/sec, 17.6 Imperial gal/sec) from the source. There is also several cold water springs nearby, with the most popular being situated in a small village nearby called 'Vila Dareh ويلا دره' - the water here is fizzy and is very good for the kidneys.
The climate is by far a great asset, and many Iranians from Tehran and other big cities escape to the tranquility and good weather that Sarein has to offer.

रानीखेत उत्तराखंड राज्य के अल्मोड़ा ज़िले के अंतर्गत एक पहाड़ी पर्यटन स्थल है। देवदार और बलूत के वृक्षों से घिरा रानीखेत बहुत ही रमणीक एक लघु हिल स्टेशन है। काठगोदाम रेलवे स्टेशन से 85 किमी. की दूरी पर स्थित है। प्रकृति प्रेमियों का स्वर्ग रानीखेत समुद्र तल से 1824 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित एक छोटा लेकिन बेहद खूबसूरत हिल स्टेशन है। छावनी का यह शहर अपने पुराने मंदिरों के लिए मशहूर है। उत्तराखंड की कुमाऊं की पहाड़ियों के आंचल में बसा रानीखेत फ़िल्म निर्माताओं को भी बहुत पसन्द आता है। यहां दूर-दूर तक गगनचुंबी पर्वत, सुंदर घाटियां, चीड़ और देवदार के ऊंचे-ऊंचे पेड़, घना जंगल, फलों लताओं से ढके संकरे रास्ते, टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी जलधारा, सुंदर वास्तु कला वाले प्राचीन मंदिर, ऊंची उड़ान भर रहे तरह-तरह के पक्षी और शहरी कोलाहल तथा प्रदूषण से दूर ग्रामीण परिवेश का अद्भुत सौंदर्य आकर्षण का केन्द्र है।रानीखेत से सुविधापूर्वक भ्रमण के लिए पिण्डारी ग्लेशियर, कौसानी, चौबटिया और कालिका पहुँचा जा सकता है। चौबटिया में प्रदेश सरकार के फलों के उद्यान हैं। इस पर्वतीय नगरी का मुख्य आकर्षण यहाँ विराजती नैसर्गिक शान्ति है।
एक किवदंती के अनुसार रानीखेत का नाम रानी पद्मिनी के कारण पड़ा। रानी पद्मिनी राजा सुखदेव की पत्नी थीं, जो वहां के राज्य के शासक थे। रानीखेत की सुंदरता देख राजा और रानी बेहद प्रभावित हुए और उन्होंने वहीं रहने का फैसला कर किया। रानीखेत के कई इलाकों पर कुमांऊनी का शासन था पर बाद में यह ब्रिटिश शासकों के हाथ में चला गया। अंग्रेजों ने रानीखेत को छुट्टियों में मौज-मस्ती के लिए हिल स्टेशन के रूप में विकसित किया और 1869 में यहां कई छावनियां बनवाईं जो अब 'कुमांऊ रेजीमेंटल सेंटर' है। इस पूरे क्षेत्र की मोहक सुंदरता का अनुमान कभी नीदरलैण्ड के राजदूत रहे वान पैलेन्ट के इस कथन से लगाया जा सकता है- जिसने रानीखेत को नहीं देखा, उसने भारत को नहीं देखा। कहा जाता है कि सैकड़ों वर्ष पहले कोई रानी अपनी यात्रा पर निकली हुई थीं। इस क्षेत्र से गुजरते समय वह यहां के प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य से मोहित होकर रात्रि-विश्राम के लिए रुकीं। बाद में उन्हें यह स्थान इतना अच्छा लगा कि उन्होंने यहीं पर अपना स्थायी निवास बना लिया। चूंकि तब इस स्थान पर छोटे-छोटे खेत थे, इसलिए इस स्थान का नाम 'रानीखेत' पड़ गया। अंग्रेज़ों के शासनकाल में सैनिकों की छावनी के लिए इस क्षेत्र का विकास किया गया। क्योंकि रानीखेत कुमाऊं रेजिमेन्ट का मुख्यालय है, इसलिए यह पूरा क्षेत्र काफ़ी साफ-सुथरा रहता है। यहां का बाज़ार तो अद्भुत है। पहाड़ के उतार (यानी खड़ी चढ़ाई) पर बना हुआ। इसलिए इसे 'खड़ा बाज़ार' कहा जाता है
रानीखेत में गर्मी के दिनों में मौसम सामान्य, जुलाई से लेकर सितम्बर तक का मौसम बरसात का और फिर नवंबर से फरवरी तक बर्फबारी और ठंड वाला होता है। रानीखेत का हर मौसम घूमने का आनंद देता है। वैसे तो रानीखेत साल में कभी भी जा सकते हैं लेकिन सबसे अच्छा समय है मार्च से जून तक का होता है। अगर आप ठंड में जाना चाहें तो सितम्बर से नवंबर के बीच जाएं, जब वहां का मौसम सबसे बढ़िया होता है।
रानीखेत की सुंदरता को शब्दों में बयान नहीं किया जा सकता है। दूर-दूर तक फैली घाटियां, घने जंगलों में सरसराते चीड़ के पेड़ यहां की सुंदरता में चार चांद लगते हैं। दुनिया भर से हर साल लाखों की संख्या में सैलानी यहां मौज-मस्ती करने के लिए आते हैं। रानीखेत से 6 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर गोल्फ का विशाल मैदान है। उसके पास ही कलिका में कालीदेवी का प्रसिद्ध मंदिर भी है। द्वाराहाट के पास ही 65 मंदिर बने हुए हैं, जो कि तत्कालीन कला के बेजोड़ नमूनों के रुप में विख्यात हैं। बद्रीकेदार मंदिर, गूजरदेव का कलात्मक मंदिर, दूनागिरि मंदिर, पाषाण मंदिर और बावड़िया यहां के प्रसिद्ध मंदिर हैं। द्वाराहाट से 14 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर दूनागिरी मंदिर है। यहां से आप बर्फ से ढकी चोटियों को देख सकते हैं। दूनागिरी में चोटी पर दुर्गाजी समेत कई अन्य मंदिर भी हैं, जहां पर आसपास के लोग बड़ी संख्या में आते हैं। इसके कुछ ही दूरी पर शीतलाखेत है, जो पर्यटक गांव के नाम से जाना जाता है। यहां की खूबसूरती देखते ही बनती है। यहां पर दिखने वाले खूबसूरत नज़ारे पर्यटकों को खूब भाते हैं। रानीखेत से लगभग सात किलोमीटर दूरी पर है- कलिका मंदिर। यहां माँ काली की पूजा की जाती है। यहां पर पौधों की बहुत ही बढ़िया नर्सरी भी हैं। ऊपर में गोल्फ कोर्स है और उसके पीछे बर्फ से ढंका हुआ पहाड़ बहुत ही मनोरम दृश्य प्रस्तुत करता है। रानीखेत में इसके अलावा और भी मनोरम स्थल है। यहां का बालू बांध मछली पकड़ने के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। रानीखेत से थोड़ी-थोड़ी दूरी पर भ्रमण करने की भी कई जगह हैं जैसे अल्मोड़ा जहां हिमालय पहाड़ों का सुंदर दृश्य मन को मोह लेता है। रानीखेत का चौबटिया गार्डन पर्यटकों की पहली पसंद है। इसके अलावा यहां का सरकारी उद्यान और फल अनुसंधान केंद्र भी देखे जा सकता है। इनके पास में ही एक वाटर फॉल भी है। कम भीड़-भाड़ और शान्त माहौल रानीखेत को और भी ख़ास बना देता है।

The New Zealand pink and white terraces which were considered eighth wonder of world submerged under water after volcanic eruption caused a huge lake there in 19th century.
