Batumi – Georgia Second Largest City In Georgia 374 Km from Tibilisi bordering Black Sea with the views of Georgian Mountains Batumi is a must see place during your Georgian Tour. if you visit Batumi at summer you will notice Batumi has a different level of energy , Entertainment and other touristic activities. the best thing in Batumi is you can reach to Batumi from the land , sea or Air. From Tibilisi , Azerbaijan, Istanbul or Moscow you can take a Train to Batumi. it is an international railway hub.
if you are already in Georgia, From Tibilisi You can take a Train for about 20$ per 01st class seat. ride bus from Tibilisi to Batumi 20-25 $ or Ride a Taxi to 300-400$ depending on the agreement. you also can take a domestic flight to Batumi from Tibilisi but the amount of Luggages you can carry are very limited. so I usually use Train and it is very comfortable, cheap and reliable.

GEORGIA | Historical Tourism
Towards the Black Sea, in the Goderdzi Pass, nomadic peoples farm the land in idyllic and misty mountainous surroundings. During the winter, the snowfall is heavy and these people, most of them Muslims, come down from the mountains to the outskirts of Batumi, where the subtropical climate is more favourable for daily life.

Historical tourism, a variety of year-round leisure options and an abundance of sunny days are what resorts such as Kvariati and Gonio have to offer. With long, quiet beaches, they are very popular among citizens of western Georgia. On the border with Turkey, they are also very close to Batumi, a coastal city with an appealing Botanical Garden, home to thousands of exotic plants and over 100 species of Caucasian origin.
However, what really makes Batumi a cosmopolitan city is its Port, the gateway to Europe via the Black Sea and the external maritime link of a country which is prospering, thanks to its continuing cultural, artistic and commercial exchanges with other countries. As well as the mythical statue of Medea, Batumi, the administrative centre for the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, has impressive monuments that are spectacularly beautiful when lit up at night.
The Region of Guria is north of Adjara, in the western part of the country, and its name means “The Land of the Restless,” an appropriate term for a very active people who masterfully interpret an art form that is now inscribed in UNESCO’s Cultural Heritage of Humanity: Polyphonic Singing. It is full of beautiful melodies with a wide thematic repertoire that often proclaims noble Georgian values such as vitality and peace.
In Lake Paleastomi and the wetlands of Kolkheti National Park, over 21 species of migrating birds can be observed. Humans have lived, in these marshlands for centuries, although it has been difficult for them to acclimatize to this rugged and hostile ecosystem that has been a site for diseases such as malaria in the past. Today, this natural paradise entices ecotourists and offers opportunities such as watching water buffalo, huge animals that demonstrate the great biodiversity of the park. Kolkheti is 29,000 hectares large and 10 to 15 metres deep in the marshy areas, which are made up of a sedimentary layer formed over 6,000 years.
The Dadiani Palace-Museum in Zugdidi belonged to a Georgian noble dynasty. Inside, there are a multitude of articles with historical value and objects related to Napoleon Bonaparte, since Salomé Dadiani strengthened the ties between Georgia and Europe by marrying Achille Murat, a nephew of the French Emperor. A little further north, in Jvari, is the tallest Dam in the world, the Enguri Dam, which is 272 metres high. It is a hydroelectric fortress on the Enguri River, whose source is close to Shkhara, the tallest mountain in Georgia. Svaneti is a remote mountain region in the north of Georgia, and Mestia is its most important town.
For thousands of years, Georgian kings and powerful men hid their wealth in the inaccessible mountains of the Region of Svaneti. Today, some of those valuable treasures are on public view in this museum that houses magnificent works of gold and silver, as well as icons from the 9th to the 13th centuries.

Road trip Georgia: Sarpi (Georgia - Turkey border) to Bolu (Turkey)
Summary footage of our drive from the Georgian Turkish border at Sarpi, driving along the Black Sea coast and through the interior to the valley at Bolu where we spend the night in Saraycık. Quite a long drive in one day: 1015 km, from our start point of the day in Chakvi (Georgia). You can see the first part of the day from Ckakvi to the border here:
Don't mind the speed, we're not racing, it's double speed play.

We're going to the BLACK SEA!! Georgia Road Trip
In this video we're leaving Ushguli behind and road tripping to the Georgian coast of the BLACK SEA!!!
We woke to a somewhat overcast and moody sunrise, but as the day progressed the sun came out in full force and it turned into an awesome travel day. The Georgian landscapes are INSANE and to go from 2,100 meters in a mountain paradise ALL the way down to the BEACH in one half day is amazing. #BlackSea #Georgia
I hope you like the video and as always, thanks for watching!!

From wikipedia:
Sarpi (Georgian: სარფი) is a border village on the coast of the Black Sea, on the border between Turkey and Georgia. It is inhabited by the Laz.
Sarpi is the main land border crossing between the two countries and a major conduit for business travel, especially for Turkish companies doing business in Batumi. Sarpi is located about 12 km south of Batumi and about 20 km northeast of Hopa, Turkey.
It is odd for a major international border crossing to have a nice beach, but Sarpi's pebble beach and clear water are nice indeed. Despite the Turkish trucks lined up to cross over to Hopa, the setting is picturesque, with the beach and border crossing occupying a narrow strip of land before the topography of the village shoots directly upwards across jungle-covered green cliffs. Whether a swim here is your first or your last experience during your travels in Georgia, it is likely to be a memorable one. Swimming across the border would not certainly be appreciated by border guards, though.
The main eatery right by the border post and the beach is heralded by a lot of yellow umbrellas over plastic tables. It's a modest eatery and probably not the best introduction to Georgian cuisine, but some quick roadside food after a dip in the crystal waters of the Black Sea is likely to be enjoyable regardless of the quality.
Options are scarce if you are looking for accommodation within Sarpi itself, although if you make friends with a local you are likely to receive sincere offers of generous hospitality at their own house. There are good options just up the coast though—ask around after you've already left the customs office behind.
Quite naturally the next stop to the south is Hopa in Turkey. A ride on a dolmuş (shared taxi) should cost certainly no more than 5-10 Turkish lira. The Turkish taxi drivers won't speak Russian, if that's how you have been getting around, so brush up on either your Georgian or Turkish numbers and get ready for a lot of bargaining in Turkey!
If you are coming from Turkey, say your farewells to the dolmuş culture and say hello to the wonderful world of post-Soviet Lada taxis. A ride up to Batumi, where you can connect with the national transport system, should not cost any more than 15-20 Lari. If you do take a taxi into the city, your taxi driver may likely offer you a stop at a local cafe to try Ajaruli khachapuri—it's delicious and there is little reason to turn him down!
Better yet, though, be prepared to pay a little extra and ask your taxi driver to show you around some of Ajara's sites along the way. Or leave your travel plans for another day and take a taxi to one of the tiny resorts that dot the coast south of Batumi for more swimming and some good seafood.

Matsimi / Lagodeki / Balakan: Connecting Telavi and Zaqatala. Quiet and easy-going. A beautiful drive once in Azerbaijan towards Baku, but watch out for police if self-driving! There are minibuses from Telavi to Lagodekhi (1,5h), from where you can walk or take a taxi for the remaining 4km. There is also a bus from Telavi to Balaken (7 GEL), just across the border on the Azeri side. The Georgian side is predictably well-equipped with a duty-free shop and money exchange. On the Azeri side there is nothing. Minibuses go between the border and Balakan/Zaqatala,Qax and Ilisu.
