The South and south east part of the district has hills and broken ground which form a part of a vast track of rugged region enclosing the narrow valley of the Chambal river. Surrounded by Vindhyas & Aravalis, this place is a treat for adventure enthusiasts as well as the ones with a fascination for history, with the Ranthambore National park- the most renowned national park in northern India and the Ranthambore Fort which was recently included in the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites, being the main attractions.

This is not the main route or any safari zone of the National Park. It is the main way to reach RTDC hotel Jhoomar Baori in Ranthambore National Park ( which is good hotel in Ranthambore and it is situated in the middle of the Forest, where we can see lots of wildlife. Herd of spotted deer, sambar deer, Blue bull, chinkara or Indian Gazelle, black face languor are common sight on this road. This is good habitat of the leopard, sloth bear and territory of the big cat of the Ranthambore.

Sawai Madhopur
Sawai Madhopur is a city that is located in the state of Rajasthan in the Sawai Madhopur district. The area is the home of the famous Ranthambhor National Park and also the Ranthambhor Fortress. The fortress is located inside the boundaries of the park itself and it is an important tourist destination in the state. The city was developed in the mid 18th century by an emperor called Sawai Madhopur. The city is also well known for its guavas.
The Ranthambhor Park is one of the tiger reserves in the country and it is located around 11 km from the city itself. The park is home to many species of animals and some of them that can be seen in the area are tigers, nilgais, leopards, chitals, sloth bears and many other species. Safaris rides are also available in the park and they last for around three hours each. The fortress located inside the park was built in the 10th century, and is a majestic piece of architecture.
There are a few places that one can visit in and around the city and the most visited among them are Khandar Fort, Karauli, Trinetra Ganesh Temple, Sri Mahaveerji Temple, Siwad, Amareshwar Mahadeo, Chauth Mata Temple and a few other places.

The nearest town and railway station is at Sawai Madhopur, about 11 km away.
