Twelve Mile Run - Horseshoe Run Area
Monongahela National Forest, Horeshoe Run Area starting in Thomas WV to county road Twelve Mile Run and Return, although not by the same route. Twelve Mile Run is a very challenging road with several water crossings, mud pits, deep ruts, low hanging trees and rocky terrain. This road is not suitable for passenger vehicles and trucks and SUVs should have 4WD and capable drivers. There is one point on the road that pitches the vehicle severely to one side towards the creek while navigating a deep rut. Other than this exception, all of the other roads are meant for passenger vehicles. The return route passes Cathedral State Park which has some great short day hiking trails and a forested picnic area. Also along the route you will find the Fairfax Stone and the highest point in Maryland.

Exploring the dilapidated ruins of civilisation, abandoned buildings, creepy theme parks, military bases, and underground vaults containing the remnants of a by gone era. And with a bit of comedy and humour chucked in there too, can't be too serious about these things.
We're not serious urban explorers, we just love the adventure.
Urban Exploration is not for kiddies. Abandoned places are dangerous. Adventures are fun.
