Žabotlamy a jiné vlaky podél linky S41 (Frogmouths and other trains on Prague city line S41)
(English commentary below) (14.2.2017) Když miluješ vlaky, není co řešit aneb valentinský šot :) Video je točeno z větší části v úseku mezi stanicí MHD V Podbabě a železniční stanicí Praha-Sedlec.
Hlavními protagonisty, kteří mě přivedli do těchto míst, byly legendární elektrické jednotky přezdívané Žabotlamy. Ten den byly nasazeny soupravy 451 001+002 a 451 059+060.
St Valentine´s Day railway video - when you love trains, the best place where to spend such a day is by the track :) The video was taken primarily between the public transport bus station V Podbabě and the railway station Praha-Sedlec. In the video you can see the ruin Baba which gave the name to the neighbouring area (Podbaba means below-Baba) and the city ferry, which is a part of public transport system. The city line S41 starts in Praha-Libeň and ends in Roztoky u Prahy. It is rather a short line - it has only 14 km and it takes about 16 min to get from one end to the other. But it is very popular with railfans because it is the last place in the Czech Republic where you can meet the legendary electric units of class 451 Frogmouths (built in 1960s) every working day. They are still in operation mainly due to the lack of newer units, but we, railfans, are really happy for it. These units also serve as back-up units for days when it freezes hard, since they are more reliable in this condition than the newer units. Unfortunately, they are constantly attacked by graffiti vandals, as you can see in the video...
Here you can see the bridge at the beginning of the video in the lithographies of the Czech graphic artist Jiří Bouda, who is famous for his beautiful railway scenes.
