AZORES: Boca do Inferno viewpoint, Sete Cidades - São Miguel Island
Boca do Inferno is a popular viewpoint overlooking the crater lakes & village of Sete Cidades, on the Island of São Miguel in the Portuguese Azores. Sete Cidades is a village/parish located in the center of a massive volcanic crater 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) across, also referred to as Sete Cidades.
The Sete Cidades volcano/crater is situated on the extreme western portion of the island of São Miguel (Azores) occupying an area of approximately 110 km2 (42 sq mi). The last intra-calderan eruption occurred approximately 500 years A.D.
Presently, the interior of the structure is occupied by diverse volcanic structures and four lakes. The two crater lakes are referred to by the color of the waters: blue, reflecting the sky (Lagoa Azul) and green, reflecting the ground (Lagoa Verde).

Sete Cidades FD tour with hike and thermal pools
Lagoon of the Seven Cities) is a twin lake situated in the crater of a dormant volcano on the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. It consists of two small, different lakes connected by a narrow strait, which is crossed by a bridge.
The Lagoa das Sete Cidades it is the largest body of water in the region.
Our hike goes around of one of the lakes(Lagoa Verde), the day will end in thermal pools in Ferraria.
By the Ocean in the far southwest of the S. Miguel Island – Azores, lies Ferraria. Beyond its beauty and scientific interest, the place of Ferraria has another great richness: Two springs of volcanic thermal water, who warm the waters of the natural pool in Ferraria and that are used in the Thermal SPA.

The Azores (Portuguese: Açores) is one of the two autonomous regions of Portugal (along with Madeira). It is an archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean. All the islands have volcanic origins.
São Miguel Island is the largest and most populous island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. The island covers 760 km2 (290 sq mi) and has around 140,000 inhabitants, with 45,000 people resident in Ponta Delgada, the archipelago's largest city.
Similar to other islands in the archipelago, São Miguel is influenced by ocean currents and winds, and, in particular, the cyclonic Gulf Stream. This keeps temperatures hovering between 14 °C (57 °F) and 26 °C (79 °F) throughout the year. The island's location also makes it susceptible to many Atlantic storms.

A PERFECT PORTUGAL ROAD TRIP | BRAGA, GUIMARÃES + PENEDA-GERÊS
It’s time to go on a road trip in Portugal! If you saw my last Portugal vlog, you’ll know that I spent one week in Porto. I was there to explore because it was my first time in Portugal, but I ended up having to work most of the week - oops! So, I decided to squeeze some of the best towns in Northern Portugal (and the best days trip from Porto) into one day and take a little Portugal road trip. I wanted to write a guide to Northern Portugal with some easy day trips from Porto on my travel blog, so I choose a few places that I wanted to include: Braga, Guimarães and the beautiful Peneda-Gerês National Park.
I hope you enjoy joining us on this Portgual road trip. I would have loved to have done these trips separately and spent more time in Braga, Guimarães + Peneda-Gerês National Park, but sadly my week in Porto was already coming to an end. Still, I’m glad I managed to see a good amount of Northern Portugal and it’s always nice to have a reason to come back - something I’m sure will happen very soon :)

Walking Tour - Sete Cidades Azores
Let’s explore the West side of São Miguel. Sete Cidades lake is one of the most famous and legendary lakes of the island. During the 11 km long hike you will have the opportunity to learn about the fauna, flora, history, volcanic formation of the island, and of course, you will hear the legendary love story behind the formation of the lake. After the walk we will drive along the south coast and stop in Ferraria, a delightful ocean bathing area, where the salt water is heated inside a volcanic fissure.
