Day Trip to the Seven Sisters White Cliffs From London By Train!
Visiting the Seven Sisters Cliffs on a day trip from London had been on my list for awhile and I'm so glad I finally did it!
I took the train from London Victoria Station to Eastbourne. I headed to the beach, along the promenade and straight away I could see the white cliffs lining the coastline. I decided to make Birling Gap my half way point which was a beautiful, although steep in places, 9-10km walk which took me through countryside meadows and right alongside the edge of the cliffs.
Birling Gap has a cafe and a beach which was a great place to have lunch before turning around and doing the walk back to Eastbourne.
I would really recommend heading to the Seven Sisters Cliffs on a day trip, whether you're visiting from London or elsewhere in the UK. It's so gorgeous, especially on a sunny day!

6 Great English Places Outside of London
It's been many years since I last walked the green pastures of England. That doesn't, of course, stop me from reminiscing about some of my favourite places that my home nation has to offer. Naturally - having lived there - London is one such place. But England is replete with gems outside of the capital too. Here are my six favourite English places outside of London.
Editor's note: the initial shot of Dover is not, in fact, Dover - but Seven Sisters in Sussex.

Seven Sisters (Country Park), UK
Seven Sisters is one of the best travel destinations near London and Brighton! Brighton is an hour journey by train from London and Seven Sisters is about 90 minutes by bus from Brighton's city center. To see both Brighton and seven sisters, It's better to have a night stay in Brighton and to roam around in Brighton city for half of the day and start the journey to seven sisters next morning as it takes at least half of the day to roam around in seven sisters. But this is a place for relaxing, not for rushing! I visited there in October, though not perfect time for visiting as you might expect the best experience in summer only.

This is Great Britain
This is Great Britain. It’s where I was born and brought up. It’s my home.
I am an adventurer. I have travelled a lot, right the way around the world, visiting incredible places in almost a hundred countries.
But only when I got back home again did I appreciate just how much there is to explore and discover and treasure right here under my nose in this crowded, rainy, quirky, ancient, beautiful, thrilling little island.
I have had lots of requests for the locations we shot at. Hope this helps you plan your own trips!

We’re filled with history, with castles and cathedrals and mysterious old caves covered in shells and massive trees and walled seaside towns and hushed libraries filled with treasures. We’ve got pubs 800 years old, century-old theme parks, and world war 2 forts left empty and mysterious since they defended London out in the estuary of the Thames.
You can do it all in Britain: gaze at the stars, dangle from wires, sleep in a lighthouse, hold a hawk, pat a cactus, ponder the universe or just sit and drink tea. There's So much tea! And cake.
You might choose to camp in a tent or wallow in a hot tub, eat candy floss, or fish and chips. You can take to the skies or go climbing underground, like the wild landscapes of Wales or England or Scotland. You can pedal fast or paddle slow, ride on a horse or on a rollercoaster. You can do it all.
We get rain, for certain, loads of rain. But if you’re lucky you’ll get some sunshine, maybe some snow too. There’s warm nights and muddy faces, and good people who’ll make jokes about the weather and suggest cups of tea as solutions to everything.
This is my home. It’s packed full with towns and cliffs and beaches and bays and mountains and green fields. And the crazy thing is that it took me years of exploring the whole world before I finally came back home and discovered just what it is that makes Britain great.
- It was a real pleasure to get to travel around Britain for National Geographic visiting all these fabulous places. The film was made by Brother Film Co ( and I really hope it encourages people to come Visit Britain.

Southeast England | Top 5 Places To See In The South of England
My personal 5 South England highlights:
1. Take the Euro Tunnel. It is rail tunnel between the United Kingdom (near Dover) and France (near Calais).
At its lowest point, you travel 115 m (380 ft) below the sea level!!
2. White Cliffs of Dover & Dover Castle
3. Eastbourne: Beachy Head Lighthouse & Birling Gap
4. Seven Sisters Cliffs & Cuckmere Haven
You need to see the famous Seven Sisters cliffs and the coastguard cottages, from Seaford Head across the River Cuckmere. They became famous through a couple of movies like Robin Hood (Prince of Thieves), and through the film Atonement where Robbie and Cecilia always wanted to live :)
5.World Heritage Site Stonehenge
The most important prehistoric monuments - Stonehenge.
It was built over 3500(!) years ago. It is assumed, that it was constructed from 3000 to 2000 BC. Nobody knows the meaning and purpose of it, which makes it somehow mystic - that's at least what I thought
