Steam to Wensleydale, 48151 & 35018 British India Line on The Wensleydale Railway 6th April 2019
Here's some footage of 48151 & 35018 British India Line on The Wensleydale Railway 6th April 2019. This video sees the train run double headed and top n tailed through Yorkshire at locations such as, Church Fenton x2, York, Aiskew Level Crossing (just outside Leeming Bar on the Wensleydale Railway) Thirsk & Burton Salmon, near Sherburn-in-Elmet. Unfortunately we were meant to film the tour at Newton Le Willows but due to the delays the tour did not make it to Leyburn and stayed at Bedale. This tour was meant to be hauled by Jubilees 45690 Leander & 45699 Galatea but due to both Jubilees being unavailable they were replaced by 48151 & 35018 British India Line.

UK - Class 37's, 47's & Jubilee in South Yorkshire, 8/6/2019
The 1960's seemed to return to South Yorkshire today with three special trains within minutes of each other .... ex.LMS 4-6-0 Jubillee number 45690 Leander headed The Scarborough Flyer .... The Yorkshire Explorer was headed by English Electric Type 3's (Class 37's) numbers 37038 & 37059 (D6738 & D6759) .... The Northern Belle was headed by Brush Type 4's (Class 47's upgraded to Class 57) numbers 57313 & 57601 (D1890 & D1759).
Our first location is Sheffield Midland Station where 45690 mingles with a variety of suburban and express services. The Jubilee was to stop for water a couple of miles from the station and this gave us a chance for a second shot at Thurnscoe.
Thurnscoe was a particularly good location because the Jubilee's working and the two diesel hauled trains were all due to pass within about half an hour of each other .... it was almost like the 1960's again. Well, maybe not quite!

Tornado Goes Pullman Style! 60163 Tornado on The Yorkshire Pullman 15th June 2019
Here's some footage of 60163 Tornado on The Yorkshire Pullman 15th June 2019 seen at York & Doncaster.
We start off just outside York on a bridge on the Scarborough Line. Where we Tornado powering up the bank away from York Station & the River Ouse, making fantastic noise!
After spending some time around the NRM at York, we then went to Doncaster catch Tornado at speed, sadly this was not to be. Due to heavy delays with Tornados water tanker not having any in the tank, cable theft, resulting in a points failure between York & Doncaster, causing the tour to divert around Church Fenton, Sherburn in Elmet, Fitzwilliam & Adwick. And a broken down train near Retford would cause heavy delays on the East Coast Mainline between Retford & York.
Sadly, Tornado was held up outside Doncaster Station and was sent into platform 1, where she was originally scheduled to pass through. Unfortunately she made an unscheduled stop, meaning that the originally intended speeding shot did not go to plan.

6233 Duchess of Sutherland The Yorkshireman Kettering Station, 9th March 2019
Video I put together of Duchess of Sutherland pulling railtour train, here it stops at Kettering Station, I also filmed the Scania lorry that carried the water tanker.
Kettering railway station serves the town of Kettering in Northamptonshire, England. It lies south-west of the town centre, on the Midland Main Line, 71 miles (115 km) north of London St. Pancras.
No.46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' is a London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive built in 1938 by Crewe Works for the London Midland and Scottish Railway. Built as a high speed express passenger locomotive, 46233 was built to haul fast express passenger services such as ‘The Royal Scot’ and ‘The Mid-Day Scot' between London Euston and Glasgow Central as well as other expresses to Liverpool.
Withdrawn by British Railways in 1964, the locomotive was originally sold to Butlins holiday camp in Scotland. In 1996, the locomotive was acquired by The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust with the intention of restoration to mainline condition. In 2001, 46233 was restored to operating condition and since then has been a regular performer on the national network.
The city of York is world famous for its variety of visitor attractions and home to the National Railway Museum. We travel north via the Midland Main Line stopping at stations to pick up further passengers. Our train will be hauled between London and York by Princess Coronation Class steam locomotive No 46233 Duchess of Sutherland.
Our train leaves London Ealing Broadway at around 06:25 hauled by Duchess of Sutherland and travels around West London through Acton Wells and and Neasden South Junction. At Dudding Hill Junction we take the Brent curve and join the Midland Main Line (MML) near Cricklewood. We head north and stop at St. Albans, Luton, Bedford and Kettering, to pick up further passengers.
We leave the MML after Kettering and take the former Midland Railway Nottingham direct line. We pass through Corby Station, opened in 2009 to replace the original which was closed in 1966. We climb to the famous Harringworth Viaduct, the longest masonry viaduct in Britain. From the end of the viaduct there is a long, stiff climb up to Wing Tunnel and then it is downhill to Manton Junction, and through Rutland’s county town of Oakham.
We stop to pick up passengers at Melton Mowbray before we continue to Syston Junction and take the sharp right curve to join the MML from Leicester. We pass through Loughborough and join the Erewash Valley Line at Trent Junction. Our final boarding point for passengers is at Alfreton. After Chesterfield we take the ‘old road’ to Rotherham and continue through Conisbrough to Doncaster. Here we join the East Coast Main Line and can expect a fast run to York, where we arrive in the early afternoon.
York is well known for its Minster, Castle and city walls. The Snickelways, famous medieval alleys and narrow streets, and The Shambles, are well worth exploring. The National Railway Museum, the many shops and museums, ensure that there is something on offer for everybody.
Our train leaves York at around 17:25 and returns to London Ealing Broadway diesel hauled. We stop at the same stations as on the outward journey, to set down passengers.

5043 Hauls 'The Christmas White Rose' To York-(10/12/2016):
Not quite as wet as my previous recordings of this Vintage Trains annual day excursion from Tyseley Steam Trust in Birmingham to York & back with 5043 The 'Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe'.
Seen initially on the outward run at Water Orton (Foot Crossing safe position) on the approach to Coleshill Parkway.
The night return was recorded at Coleshill Parkway on the approach and during the station stop and departure with the now almost traditional 'Crow Whistle' as the Crew get the 'Earl' into her stride for the last lap home to Tyseley.

Colton Junction (ECML Diversions)
For this video we leave the model railway & head out in snowy conditions for Colton Junction. Located south of the city of York in North Yorkshire.(Before anyone says, yep, a couple of typo errors in the video, lol!!). Here we see most rail traffic being diverted down the west side of the junction. At Colton Junction the East Coast Main Line continues south / north, York to Church Fenton along the Normanton line, which diverges in a westerly direction, to destinations such as Leeds, Ferrybridge, Knottingley, Castleford, Sheffield.
Here we see various workings, & diverted workings on & off the ECML (East Coast Main Line). For more details on this location:
Very popular location this, due to high number of workings through the junction.
