Let's Explore: Pink moss in Hyogo, Japan!
Heya!
We went to Hyogo the other day to see some pink moss. It was during Golden Week so it was absolutely packed!
It was gorgeous though, and I definitely recommend heading there if you get the chance (and can read Japanese, as the route was a little difficult!).
Thanks so much for watching, and I'll talk to you soon!

Japanese Onsen Ryokan Tsuru no yu in Nyuto Onsen, Akita - 乳頭温泉 鶴の湯
Rated the most popular onsen among foreign travelers who visit Japan, Tsuru no yu sure doesn't disappoint! With the multiple baths it boasts, warm and comfortable tatami rooms, traditional meals made with local ingredients, and a rustic beauty, it's no surprise that this onsen is popular among locals, too.
This onsen is perhaps most famous for its mixed bath and while I was really nervous to try it at first, the experience was really a comfortable one because the onsen staff have clearly considered the privacy of us ladies! Women enter the mixed bath from the side through a sheltered pathway and considering the milky white bath water, I was totally at ease throughout! 10/10 will recommend! (:

Also known as Sentsubo Kofun, this is the largest keyhole shaped tomb mound in Hyogo Prefecture, constructed between the end of 4th century and the beginning of 5th century. The magnificent ancient architecture and its superior skill can be felt from the tomb reconstructed to its original state. Also views of Awaji Island and Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from here are superb.

What’s “kofun”?
Kofun (古墳, from Sino-Japanese ancient grave) are megalithic tombs or tumuli in Japan, constructed between the early 3rd century and the early 7th century AD. They gave their name to the Kofun period (middle 3rd century to early-middle 6th century). Many of the Kofun have distinctive keyhole-shaped mounds (zenpo-koenfun (前方後円墳)), which are unique to ancient Japan.
