Ladis - Tyrol - Austria TRAVEL
--------------------------------------------------------
The centre of Ladis is decorated with façade paintings, distinguishing itself from neighbouring villages by the large number of farms which have been maintained at Ladis. Ladis, both in summer and winter, is ideal for relaxing holidays in the countryside. Moreover you can enjoy cycling, e.g. with comfortable electronic bikes, or hiking along the scenic trails. Another highlight you might want to enjoy is a fabulous 6-course meal in a gondola at the neighbouring village of Fiss.
Highly recommendable: all guests get the “Super. Summer. Card” when arriving directly at their landlord, providing lots of reductions as well as the free use of the mountain funiculars or the hiking bus shuttle. Also for families this card is advantageous, as animation for children is offered for free. In winter, Ladis is, like its neighbouring villages Serfaus and Fiss, integrated into the skiing area Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, offering 212 km of ski slopes. This skiing area is by the way one of the most popular skiing areas of Tyrol such as Sölden and Ischgl.
Ladis has also got several sights to offer, e.g. its medical springs: since Middle Ages this village has been known for its sulfur and saline springs called “Oblader Sauerbrunn”. In 1833 in this place a hotel was built which in 1972 was destroyed by a fire. Today there is a guest house as well as a fountain, out of which you can bottle curative waters for personal use. Otherwise it is bottled and sold as “Tiroler Sauerbrunn”.
Our recommendation: Laudeck Castle is located in the north-east of the village and can be visited. Its residential tower was built around 1200 AD, the little great hall a little later. Up to the 16th century the castle served as administrative centre for the supreme court.

Glacier skiing is literally the tip of the iceberg with this resort. Sölden's ski area centres around three main peaks, each over 3,000m in height, giving you some fantastic snow conditions. Take on the challenge of the 'Big 3 Rally' - a 50km signed tour of the pistes that will take you to all three peaks. Sölden is also renowned as a snowboard mecca and has a very lively nightlife with numerous bars and clubs to keep you entertained into the early hours. Combine all this together and Sölden has the ingredients for a superb holiday.
It's also James Bond's new favourite ski resort - Sölden formed part of the set for 007's latest outing in Spectre.
