The majestic mountains of Kazakhstan, the turquoise alpine lakes which like crystal clear mirrors reflect a sky of dreams, the red arena of the deserts and the coral stones of the Charyn canyon, create a unique spectacle that not many people know about yet and that will leave you breathless. Travel to Almaty
Usually we unpack parcels from India and in gratitude to our Indian friends we have decided to make this video in English about Almaty city.
Hello everyone!
You are at the channel «Indian express» and this special broadcast is dedicated to a such wonderful city as Almaty.
Usually we unpack parcels from India and in gratitude to our Indian friends we have decided to make this video in English, and why I need this you will know soon. Let’s go!
For a beginning I would like to tell you about our city. Almaty is the southern capital of Kazakhstan, with population almost 2 million people. Almaty is also called the city of thousand of colors. It’s a sunny comfortable city immersed in greenery of the parks with high beautiful buildings and wide crowded streets. The weather in summer is not very hot about 30 degrees and in winter not colder than minus 10 degrees. Almaty is considered to be the cultural capital of Kazakhstan. Intrigued? Then watch the following!
There are a lot of sights in Almaty for which a lot of foreign tourists come to our city. And our main sight is our mountains and our nature. I suggest not to lose time and to go there immediately!
Now we are at the famous high mountain ice arena Medeo. It is situated at the highness of about two thousand meters above the sea level. High Mountain ice rink is beautiful in any weather and from any view. Here were set more than two hundred of the world records.
Not far from the ice rink at the northern slope is situated the famous Almaty conservancy area where snow leopards and Tian Shan brown bears live. Unfortunately animals try not to be caught the eyes of people and hide at the territory of the local forest. Also there is one of the most modern and safe cable ways of Kazakhstan Medeo —Chimbulak. Amazing view to the mountains of Zailiski Alatau is opened from it, also from the cabins you can review surroundings of Medeo. This cable way is able to deliver the tourists to the place where is the highest point of the resort is located, it is Talgar passage. The cable way connects two popular resorts of Kazakhstan such as sport complex Medeo and ski resort Chimbulak, the spread of this cable way is four and a half kilometers. Thanks to the new gondola line the tourists have opportunity of the maximum rapid rising to the
tracks of the ski resort, the medium time in the way is twenty minutes. Every cabin can hold eight persons.
Here we are in the ski resort Chimbulak which is situated in the beautiful territory of Zailiski alatau at the highness more than 2 thousands above the sea level. In spite of the sun is shining so bright that it is necessary to wear sunglasses, the snow is not melting even in summer days. And besides the beauty of the snowed mountains the Chimbulak is rich with different interesting tracks. If you are a beginner and only study to ski then the light tracks will be more good for you. And if you are a professional and you want an extreme you should go higher and to seek such tracks which you would like which I am doing right now. After skiing you can have lunch in wonderful restaurants which are located exactly at the slopes. Each of them is glad to suggest you dishes from different cuisines: national, european, russian, eastern. You can try our national dishes – beshparmak, sorpa, kazy and many others.
Hear is in Chimbulak we can meet a lot of tourists from India, Korea, China, Russia and other countries. Now I have met the guests from India and I asked them to tell some words to my Indian friend.
Prices in Almaty are available enough. It is connected with rates of dollar. For one dollar is given three hundred seventy seven tenge. And one Russian ruble and indian rupiah cost about 5 tenge.
For example, a ticket to the subway costs only eighty tenge it means that for 1 dollar you can ride 5 times. And medium bill in a restaurant is about ten thousands tenge for two persons, it’s less than thirty dollars. In Almaty we try not to increase prices in order our guests and residents of the city could have a good rest and not to feel the emptiness of the wallet.
In general Almaty is the southern capital with the beautiful nature and memorable sights. This is the place where you should come to enjoy clear air, beauty of the mountains and legendary touristic centers.
Almaty is the city of kindhearted and opened people. Tourists remember our city exactly like hospitable and sunny. And I hope that after this video you would like to visit this wonderful city!
So it was the Indian express, don’t forget to like and follow the channel, be healthy and lucky! Bye!

Kolsai Lakes in Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kolsai Lakes in Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kolsay Lakes National Park is located on the north slope of the Tian Shan Mountains, southeast Kazakhstan (10 km from the border with Kyrgyzstan). Often referred to as Pearls of Tien Shan, the park's main feature are the Kolsay Lakes located between the Raiymbek District and Talgar District of Almaty Region. The scenic Lake Kaindy is also within the park. The park boundary is 120 kilometres southeast of Almaty.
Nature conservation is an important part of the park's mission, with 72% of the territory under strict protection, and 13% set aside for tourism and recreation.
The park's lakes are strung along the Kolsay River, which flows south-to-north out of the Tian Shan. Two ranges of the Tian Shan contribute: the Küngöy Ala-Too Range and the Trans-Ili Alatau. The major lakes include:
Lower Kolsay Lake. A natural mountain reservoir formed by landslides that block the Kolsay River. The lower lake is about 1 km long, 400 meters wide, and 80 meters in depth. It is accessible by road and has guest-houses and campsites.
Middle Kolsay Lake. Five kilometers upstream from the lower lake, the middle lake is the largest of the three, and reaches a depth of 50 meters. It is considered the most scenic of the three Kolsay Lakes.
Upper Kolsay Lake. Six kilometers above the middle lake, the upper lake is surrounded by spruce trees and alpine meadows. It is 6 km from the Sara-Buluk pass and Kyrgystan.
Lake Kaindy in Kolsay Lakes Park. Note the dead spruce trunks rising from lake.
Lake Kaindy. Located 11 km east of the Kolsay Lakes, Kaidy Lake is located by the Chilik River. The lake is known for its mirror-smooth reflection and stands of dead spruce trunks rising from the water. It was formed in 1911 (when an earthquake caused a landslide that blocked one end of the gorge).
The park is located the Tian Shan montane steppe and meadows ecoregion, which covers the middle and upper altitudes of the Tian Shan mountains of Central Asia. The area experiences enough rain to support meadows and forests. Also, because of its isolation, it nurtures many rare plants and animal species.
The climate in the Kolsay Lakes region has been described as a Humid continental climate, cool summer subtype. The region's climate is characterized by large swings in temperature, both diurnially and seasonally, with mild summers and cold winters. In July, temperatures can range from 30 °C during the day, to −5 °C at night.
Scientists have recorded 704 species of plants in the park (12 of which are classified as rare). For animals, the park has recorded 50 species of mammals, 197 species of birds, 2 species of reptiles, 2 species of amphibian (green toad and süyirtumsıq frog), and 2 species of fish (rainbow trout and Tibetan bare kökbas). Six mammals found in the park are classified as rare in Kazakhstan, including the Tian Shen brown bear, Central Asian river kamşatı, Turkestan lynx, Snow leopard, Tien Shan argali, and the stone marten.
There are guest-houses and campsites in the nearby village of Saty. There is a 25 km hiking route that begins at the lower lake, progresses by the Kolsay lakes, and moves over the Sary-Bulak pass (3,278 km). The route takes three days by foot, or one day by horse. Kolsay Lakes are a popular mountain tourism destination in the region. Hiking trails to Kolsay Lakes are relatively accessible for beginners. Popular activities in the area include picnics, horse riding, and mountain biking. April to late September are standard periods for camping in the area.

National Park Altyn-Emel. Singing sand and Aktau Mountains Duration -3 day
Huge natural park. The largest geological and paleontological museum in the open air. These are the multicolored mountains of semi-sweet - Aktau. These mountains have many different structures and forms and have incredible potential for photographers and tourists who love the views of other planets.
The phenomenon of nature singing barkhan and the surrounding Kazakhstan savannah, where wild horses and antelopes live, is also very interesting.
