This is my home beach. I call it home beach because I basically grew up knowing the people and the landscape. I’ve seen the tides rise and fall here and I’ve felt the huge love of the people. Not to mention the amazing food.
Thank you Yu Clan for showing me the gift of family and for teaching me how to love this beach.
How to get there!
FROM MANILA:
A. You can hop on a plane going to Butuan. After that you have around 3-4 hours of a car ride before you reach Aras-Asan, the municipality nearest Cagwait.
B. You can also go to Cebu first via plane and then hop on a connecting flight to Tandag City (They fly Cebu to Tandag every MWF). From there, you’re just about 20-30 mins away from Cagwait. UPDATE (They have recently suspended flights from Cebu to Tandag for maintenance and improvements on the airport, no advise yet when it will resume)

Trip to Rock Beach, Surigao, Philippines
The rock beach at Mabua-Ipil Rock Beach is unique with lots of cottages available to rent and a few resorts in the area. This is about a 30 minute ride outside of Surigao, Mindanao, Philippines.
HANGING BRIDGE + ZIPLINE IN AN OCTOPUS ISLET ADVENTURE - Surigao
BACUAG OCTOPUS ISLET ADVENTURE
Hanging Bridge, Bacuag, Surigao del norte is one of the popular Environmental Conservation Organization located in ,Bacuag listed under Landmark & Historical Place in Bacuag, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines.
HOW TO GET THERE / route / asa agihon / strava:
1. From Surigao City, you can almost hire any van / bus from the terminal to take you to Bacuag.
Just ride a bus / van with a route going to Tandag or Hayanggabon & tell the conductor / driver to drop you off only at Bacuag's rotonda. Non-aircon van fare from Surigao City Terminal to Bacuag Rotonda is P60 only.
2. You can also ride your bike to get there for a more adventurous / tipid journey. It's just a 42km bike ride away from Surigao City :)
3. Anyways, after arriving at Bacuag's rotonda, you can walk to Bitaog Elementary School (about .5 to 1km from the rotonda) & from there ask the locals where the Hanging Bridge & Zipline is! Everyone in town knows where it is! Here's the guide:
From Bacuag Rotonda at the highway, go down to the town proper & remember to turn left at the first intersection called Naldoza Street & then turn left again at Carlota Street. Go straight ahead & then stop at Bitaog Elementary School, you then turn right to L&V Seaview Lounge. And that's it! ^_^
You can also dine / get a snack from L&V Seaview Lounge after your trip, it is beside the Hanging Bridge starting point.
Hanging bridge to & from Puyo Islet + Bacuag Safeline (Zipline)

This unique hanging bridge to an islet & zipline back to the shore is about 30-45 mimutes away from Surigao City! Yey! :)
It is still under construction but you may visit & cross the bridge. Also the caretaker said that by October 2017, hopefully the zipline would be operational already, just in time for their fiesta celebration.
