One-day itinerary.
Altyn Arashan gorge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kyrgyzstan. Its unique nature, hot springs located right in the gorge, extensive spruce forests and stunning views can not leave indifferent those who visited here.
Arashan river valley is located 10 km East of Karakol. In the lower reaches of the Arashan river is the village of Teploklyuchenka, named after the numerous hot springs located near the village. Water sources contain radon and is used in the treatment of various diseases . Beyond the village of AK - Suu gorge expands. The left slope is densely covered with spruce forest.
This is one of the few places in Kyrgyzstan, where the relic forest of the Tien Shan spruce, growing in such quantity, has been preserved. Arashan gorge is very picturesque. At an altitude of 2600 m, in a wide valley with spruce forest, green meadows and fragrant flowers, on the right Bank of the river, is a small resort Altyn - Arashan translated from the Kyrgyz language means (Golden spring). The resort was organized in 1963 on the basis of hot springs with high mineralization and radioactivity, which have a healing effect, due to the content of radon and hydrogen sulfide in the water, all year round maintaining a high temperature: 35 degrees for radon source and 41 degrees for hydrogen sulfide. Some sources have indoor pools, while others are still wild, located in stone baths.
Just above the resort to the right will flow the tributary of the river Arashan Anyr-tor, in the upper reaches of which is a beautiful moraine lake.
The tourist popularity of Arashan valley becomes more and more every year. Many mountain-adventure routes organized by tour operators on Terskey Ala-Too begin and end here.
Altyn - Arashan gorge has a complex geographical relief, unlike other mountain gorges of the Northern Tien Shan. In its lower part, Altyn-Arashan is a narrow canyon with a large degree of elevation, and a stormy river that can flood the road in summer. In the upper part, the gorge significantly expands and becomes a kind of high-mountain valley, with a very smooth elevation. There are a lot of useful herbs, mushrooms, berries, in July, dozens of beautiful flowers cover the meadows and mountain slopes. The most beautiful time in the gorge is the end of July – August. Rest in the resort of Arashan is not only treatment, but also a lot of fun. Great horseback riding, delicious natural food, fresh milk and Mare's milk, clean mountain air, stunning scenery... what else do you need for an unforgettable holiday?! Ущелье Алтын Арашан является одним из самых популярных туристических мест в Кыргызстане. Его неповторимая природа, горячие источники располагающиеся прямо в ущелье, обширные еловые леса и потрясающие виды не могут оставить равнодушным тех, кто здесь побывал.
Долина реки Арашан расположена в 10 км к востоку от г. Каракола. В нижнем течении реки Арашан расположено село Теплоключенка, названное так в честь многочисленных горячих источников, расположенных вблизи села. Вода источников содержит радон и применяется при лечении различных заболеваний . За селом Ак- Суу ущелье расширяется. Левый склон густо покрыт еловым лесом.
Это одно из немногих мест в Кыргызстане, где сохранился реликтовый лес из тянь-шанской ели, произрастающий в таком количестве. Ущелье Арашан очень живописное. На высоте 2600 м, в широкой долине с еловым лесом, зелеными лугами и душистыми цветами, на правом берегу реки, расположен небольшой курорт «Алтын- Арашан» в переводе с кыргызского языка означает («Золотой источник»). Курорт организован в 1963 году на базе горячих источников с повышенной минерализацией и радиоактивностью, которые обладают целебным эффектом, благодаря содержанию радона и сероводорода в воде, круглый год сохраняя высокую температуру: 35 градусов для радонового источника и 41 градус для сероводородного. На некоторых источниках построены крытые бассейны, другие же по сей день являются «дикими», располагаясь в каменных купальнях.
Чуть выше курорта справа впадет приток реки Арашан Аныр- Тор, в верховьях которого расположено красивое моренное озеро.
Туристическая популярность долины Арашан с каждым годом становится все больше и больше. Здесь начинаются и заканчиваются многие горно-приключенческие маршруты, организуемые туроператорами на Терскей Ала-Тоо.
Ущелье Алтын- Арашан имеет сложный географический рельеф, непохожий на прочие горные ущелья северного Тянь-Шаня.

Jety-Oguz gorge is one of the most popular places in northern Kyrgyzstan.
Jety-Oguz gorge (translated from Kyrgyz as “seven bulls”) is located in the floodplain of the river of the same name on the northern slope of the Terskei Ala-Too ridge, from the south of the Issyk-Kul lake, 25 km south-west of Karakol. It is covered with lush vegetation and received such an unusual name from the monumental ridge of red rocks Seven Bulls. These rocks are so magnificent that they are depicted on Soviet postage stamps issued in 1968. In the gorge at an altitude of 2200 m near the ridge is the resort of Dzhety-Oguz, famous for its therapeutic geothermal sources. Another remarkable rock is the famous Broken Heart, a place of real pilgrimage for lovers. There is no need to be bored on the way, so the road to the Jety-Oguz gorge will pass through the equally picturesque Irdyk Gorge which attracts with its unusual beauty. In the process of prolonged weathering of bright red rocks, the sides of the gorge were filled with fantastic outlines of palaces, pagodas and patterned towers, decorated with dark green spots and stripes of spruce forests and shrubs. The unusual shape of the slopes, the alternation of red and green colors against the blue sky make an indelible impression. To this, one can add the blue mirror of Issyk-Kul Lake beyond the ridge of low hills and the numerous snow-capped peaks of the Kungei-Alatau ridge rising behind it. And Teploklyuchensky Arboretum in which unique trees from the greater territory of the former Soviet Union are collected. The return road will pass along the beautiful Issyk-Kul lake with golden beaches and peculiar rock formations.

Ущелье Джеты-Огуз (в переводе с киргизского — «семь быков») расположено в пойме одноименной реки на северном склоне хребта Терскей Ала-Тоо, с юга огибающего озеро Иссык-Куль, в 25 км юго-западнее Каракола. Оно покрыто пышной растительностью и получило такое необычное название от монументальной гряды красных скал «Семь Быков». Эти скалы настолько великолепны, что они изображены на советских почтовых марках выпущенных в 1968 году. В ущелье на высоте 2200 м вблизи гряды расположен курорт Джеты-Огуз, известный своими лечебными геотермальными источниками. Ещё одной примечательной скалой является знаменитое Разбитое Сердце, место настоящего паломничества влюбленных. По дороге так же скучать не придется, так дорога к ущелью Джеты-Огуз пройдёт через не менее живописное Ущелье Ирдык которое привлекает своей необычной красотой. В процессе длительного выветривания ярко-красных горных пород, борта ущелья прибрели фантастические очертания дворцов, пагод и узорчатых башен, украшенных тёмно-зелёными пятнами и полосками еловых лесов и кустарников. Необычные формы склонов, чередование красных и зелёных красок на фоне голубого неба производят неизгладимое впечатление. К сказанному можно ещё добавить видимое за грядой невысоких холмов синее зеркало озера Иссык-Куль и поднимающиеся за ним многочисленные снежные вершины хребта Кунгей - Алатау. И Теплоключенский дендрарий в котором собраны уникальные деревья с большей территории бывшего Советского Союза. Обратныя дорога пройдет по прекрасному озеру Иссык-Куль с ого золотистыми пляжами и своеобразными скальными образованиями.
