Gingee Fort [ Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu, India ]
Gingee Fort or Senji Fort in Tamil Nadu This fort is 160 kilometers away from Chennai and it is close to Pondicherry city. Gingee fort, commonly called as Senji Fort is located in Viluppuram district of Tamil Nadu. This fort is one of the oldest Fort found in Tamil Nadu which is best known for its architectural excellence.
The fort is constructed over 3 small hillocks Krishnagiri, Rajagiri and Chakkiliya Durg. The fort is surrounded by a big wall like compound that runs around 13 kilometers long enclosing the fort at an altitude of 800 feet. The Rajagiri fort complex has a seven-storeyed Chakkiliya Durg, prison cells, a temple, madapams, a sacred pond called as Aanaikulam. The cannon, cannon balls made of rock were still be seen in the fort complex. The Krishnagiri fort complex is also called as English Mountain. It is believed that this fort complex was occupied by Britishers. The Chakkiliya Durg fort complex is fully in destroyed state. The first hill, where the main fort is, is called Rajagiri. Originally it was known as Kamalagiri as well as Anandagiri. The fort was historically considered most impregnable. It is about 800 feet in height. This citadel contains important buildings apart from the living quarters of the royalty, like the stables, granaries, and meeting halls for the public, temples, mosques, shrines and pavilions. Ranganathar Temple, bell tower, watch tower, cannon and draw bridge are located atop the hill. This fort is currently maintained by Archeological Department of India and it is one of the lesser known tourist sites in South India.

Gingee Fort or Senji Fort (also known as Chenji, Chanchi, Jinji or Senchi) in Tamil Nadu, India is one of the surviving forts in Tamil Nadu, India. It lies in Villupuram District, 160 kilometres (99 mi) from the state capital, Chennai, and is close to the Union Territory of Puducherry. The fort is so fortified, that Shivaji, the Maratha king, ranked it as the most impregnable fortress in India and it was called the Troy of the East by the British. The nearest town with a railway station is Tindivanam and the nearest airport is Chennai (Madras), located 150 kilometres (93 mi) away.
Originally the site of a small fort built by the kings of konar dynasty and maintained by Chola dynasty in 9th century AD, it was later modified by the Vijayanagar empire in the 13th century to elevate it to the status of an unbreachable citadel to protect the small town of Gingee. It was also the headquarters of the Gingee Nayaks,during the Nayak domination in northern Tamil Nadu. The fort was built as a strategic place of fending off any invading armies. As per one account, the fort was built during the 15–16th century by the Nayaks of Gingee, the lieutenants of the Vijayanagara Empire and who later became independent kings (Nayaks of Gingee ). The fort passed to the Marathas under the leadership of Shivaji in 1677 AD, Bijapur sultans, the Moghuls, Carnatic Nawabs, French and the British in 1761. The fort is closely associated with Raja Tej Singh, who unsuccessfully revolted against the Nawab of Arcot and eventually lost his life in a battle.

BAMBOO RUSTLES RESORT/ DRONE FOOTAGE / BMW 320
Had been with family to bamboo rustles, a quite getaway in the middle of forest. This place is around 100kms from bangalore towards krishnagiri & roads are amazing, specially the last 10 kms is a narrow single lane within vicinity of forest range. Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature with no cell network/ internet to disturb. Since my kid was also joining, had to take my car. Got some superb drone videos. Enjoy the video till the end for drone footage.
