Why Are There Megaphones in This Estonian Forest? | Atlas Obscura
Deep in a forest that’s three hours from Estonia’s capital, is a hidden acoustic wonder: three megaphones clustered together in an art installation known as RUUP. The megaphones act as amplifiers to enhance the sounds of the waving trees and birds singing, and listeners are invited to come to the center of the clearing to experience a unique surround sound effect reflecting the sounds of Estonia’s Võru County forest.

Pullijärve HOLIDAY VILLAGE in Võru County. Центр отдыха Пуллиярве. Puhkeküla.
Pullijärve Holiday Village is located in wild nature, in Misso village at Võru county, southeast of Estonia. It’s a perfect vacation place for everyone who loves nature and spending time in the fresh air.
There are many activities at holiday village: one kilometer long walk path, playing volley ball and soccer on the grounds and stadium, playing footgolf, tennis or petanque, swimming in Pullijärve Lake, riding canoe, boat or water bike and fishing pike, perch, tench and eel. Pullijärve is the best place for summer or winter corporate parties, celebrating anniversaries and recreational time with your family!
Pullijärve Holiday Village is 10 km from Latvian and Russian borders on the Riga-Pskov highway next to Misso village from Riga side. By the legend the lake (Pullijärve means Bull Elk Lake) was named after the bull elk that was killed by the wolves on the ice of the lake. Our own legend has happy ending. “And if the bull is still alive, you can see it occasionally riding the boat on the lake…”

Voru county. Leader projects
This year (2012), the LINC study trip is combined with voluntary work, which means that we can all contribute to the development of various objects in South-Estonia through community work (Practical Workshop). We will visit the different landscapes and cultures of South-Estonia. It is possible to choose between four destinations -- Setomaa, the Onion Route, Valgamaa and Võrumaa.
Võrumaa is an area where one can be alone with nature. The local nature here is amazingly diverse and primeval -- when travelling here you can find places that seem previously undiscovered by people.
Towards the south, Võrumaa rises almost as high as the clouds. The highest peak of the Baltic region -- the Great Egg Hill -- offers a refreshing view of the forest-covered hilly Estonia with its steep valleys and deep clear lakes. Since ancient times, hard-working nature, wisdom, handicraft skills, sense of humour, love of music and singing has helped local people to live in this hilly region.

Estonia '99 part 1
I'm back! Starting a new set of vlogs! Trip to Estonia in 1999 with college choir. I was 18, so the stories involve lots of shenanigans.... And the pictures are scanned photos from an ancient 35mm camera so don't judge! ;)
SUUR MUNAMÄGI - Highest Peak in Estonia. Самая высокая вершина в Прибалтике.
Suur Munamägi, 318 metres from the sea level, is the highest point of the Baltics. The observation tower on Suur Munamägi provides its visitors with a splendid 50 km range view of the Estonian nature.
The current tower, the sixth in line, was constructed in 1939, and reconstructed in 1969. A total of 29.1 metres in height, it was renovated once more in 2005 and an elevator was built into the back of the tower.
A person standing on top of the tower is standing 346.7 metres above the sea level. The first tower was built in 1812. The height of Suur Munamägi makes it one of the most important national symbols of Estonia.
