While escaping the everyday routine to go on an extreme vacation, some risky places require a lot more preparation and forethought than others. Aside from the war-torn hotspots, here are a handful of dangerous places that you might dare to visit.
1. Kokoda Track, Papua New Guinea
The Kokoda Track presents many challenges and dangers to the increasing number of adventurers that it accommodates, but by far the greatest danger is the perpetual infestation of malarial mosquitoes.
2. Death Road, Bolivia
Claiming around 250 lives per year, the aptly named Death Road is one of the most dangerous roads in the world. One wrong move, and you could end up plummeting down a 2,000-foot vertical drop. At its highest, the road reaches over 15,000 feet before descending to only 3,900 feet above sea level.
3. Chernobyl, Ukraine
The whole region, spanning some 1,000 square miles, was evacuated in 1986 due to the devastating explosion at the local nuclear power plant. However, the danger comes not so much from radiation any more, but the countless precariously abandoned buildings.
4. Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
The Cliffs of Moher reach a maximum height of 700 feet, but with the huge vertical drops right into the sea and frequent high winds, you certainly won’t want to veer too close to the edge. Sadly the cliffs also have a reputation for attracting self-destructive and even suicidal behavior.
5. Acapulco, Mexico

This is a highly active volcanic region. It’s also extremely inhospitable, being one of the hottest spots on Earth. Unfortunately, the area is made even more uninviting due to border disputes with neighboring Eritrea.
8. Mount Everest, Nepal
Standing just over 29,000 feet above sea level at the summit, the air is so thin that oxygen tanks and breathing masks are essential. Over 250 people have died attempting to reach the summit. Many bodies still lie frozen in the snow. Some have earned nicknames and serve as trail markers along Everest’s routes.
9. Hua Shan, China
The walk consists of unstable wooden boards precariously clinging to the cliffs. With no guard rails and a largely unstable construction, many lives have been claimed by this walk, which features drops of up to 7,000 feet.
10. Mont Blanc, France
With a peak of over 16,000 feet, Mont Blanc in France is one of the most breathtaking yet dangerous hiking spots in Europe. There's a threat of high wind speeds and a constant risk of avalanches. The mountain has claimed dozens of lives in recent decades.

Famous for its teahouses, grizzly bears, grand hotel, skiing, Victoria Glacier, hiking and lakes (yes, plural), Lake Louise is what makes Banff National Park the phenomenon it is, an awe-inspiring natural feature that is impossible to describe without resorting to shameless clichés. Yes, there is a placid turquoise-tinted lake here; yes, the natural world feels (and is) tantalizingly close; and yes, the water is surrounded by an amphitheater of finely chiseled mountains that Michelangelo couldn't have made more aesthetically pleasing. Then there are the much commented-on 'crowds,' plus a strangely congruous (or incongruous -- depending on your viewpoint) lump of towering concrete known as Chateau Lake Louise. But, frankly, who cares about the waterside claustrophobia? Lake Louise isn't about dodging other tourists. It's about viewing what should be everyone's god-given right to see.
When you're done with gawping, romancing or pledging undying love to your partner on the shimmering lakeshore, try hiking up into the mountainous amphitheater behind. Lake Louise also has a widely lauded ski resort and some equally enticing cross-country options. Thirteen kilometers to the southeast along a winding seasonal road is another spectacularly located body of water, Moraine Lake that some heretics claim is even more beguiling than its famous sibling.
The village of Lake Louise, just off Hwy 1, is little more than an outdoor shopping mall, a gas station and a handful of hotels. The object of all your yearnings is 5km away by car or an equitable distance on foot along the pleasantly wooded Louise Creek trail, if the bears aren't out on patrol (check at the visitors center). The Lake Louise Visitor Centre has some good geological displays, a Parks Canada desk and a small film theater.
The Bow Valley Parkway between Banff Town and Lake Louise is a slightly slower but much more scenic drive than Hwy 1.
The hamlet is located in census division No. 15 and in the federal riding of Wild Rose. It is administered by the Improvement District No. 9 and is located beside the Trans-Canada Highway, 180 km (110 mi) west of Calgary. The background of Lake Louise is filled with views of several snow-capped mountains including Mount Temple (3,543 m (11,624 ft)), Mount Whyte (2,983 m (9,787 ft)) and Mount Niblock (2,976 m (9,764 ft)).
Lake Louise experiences a subarctic climate (Köppen climate classification Dfc). Annual snowfall averages 3.3m and winter temperatures below −50°C have been recorded. Summers consist of frosty mornings and crisp, cool days. Snow can occur in any month of the year.

World Waterpark at West Edmonton Mall in HD: a Video Tour
A trip to West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, wouldn't be complete with spending a day at World Waterpark. World Waterpark opened its doors in 1986 is the world's second largest indoor waterpark after the German Resort waterside park Tropical Islands. It also has the world's largest indoor wave pool with a capacity over 12 million litres!
