The Wombat Lady of Flinders Island | Discover Tasmania
For the past twenty years Kate has played Mum to Flinders' orphaned wombats, devoting countless hours to raising them from vulnerable bundles through to their eventual release on her 40-hectare piece of paradise and back into the island's wilds. Wombats weigh around 25-30 kg and are herbivores, eating mainly grasses, herbs, bark and roots. One of the best places to see wombats is in the late afternoon at Narawntapu National Park in Tasmania's north.

Travel day: Melbourne to Frankfurt - We flew business class using frequent flyer points!
After a year of travel hacking and racking up frequent flyer points, we went on a month-long vacation in Europe with only a backpack each. We booked return business class tickets from Melbourne to Frankfurt through Singapore Airlines, paying a grand total of about $86 in taxes (the actual flight was paid for with frequent flyer points). Along the way, we also got to go to the Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines business class lounges at the Melbourne airport as well as the Singapore Airlines lounge at Singapore's Changi Airport. After a brief stopover in Singapore to visit my family, we board the plane again, this time bound for Frankfurt.
There's also quite a bit of food in this video. A particular highlight was Singapore Airlines' lamb tagine and Croque Monsieur, although everything was delicious. And of course, nothing beats home cooking - my sister-in-law surprised us in Singapore with a mouth-watering meal including spring rolls and pork belly!! What a great way to start the holiday.
