California Desert to the Oregon Coast (Snowbird Trip Update)
View the full Love Your RV! 2018/19 Snowbird Trip Video Playlist -
In this video, I give you a look at our route north and west through California and up into Oregon and over to the west coast. The journey takes us from the Mojave desert over the tail end of the Sierra Nevada through the Central Valley then up passed Mt Shasta, over the Siskiyou Pass, into the great state of Oregon.
Once in Oregon, we follow the Interstate 5 for a bit before cutting over to the coast landing at Salmon Harbor Marina in Winchester Bay.
Via photos, video clips, and dashcam footage I give you a look at our various stops along the way. We traveled just over 900 miles in around 2 weeks stopping to visit several friends along the way.
In between visiting friends, we overnighted for free at the Tachi Palace and Seven Feathers Casinos and the Olive Pit. Most of our trip we dry camped which saves us a fair chunk of money over needing full hookup RV parks.

Lake Tahoe Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia (4K)
Filled with over 39 trillion gallons of pure Sierra snowmelt and pushed a mile into the Californian and Nevada skies, Lake Tahoe is the USA’s largest alpine lake and one of the country’s oldest, year-round vacation playgrounds.
Lake Tahoe has forever drawn travellers to its shores, from the Native Americans who call this place Big Water, to the trappers, timber cutters and pioneers who followed.
When you’re ready for a little alpine magic, take the four-hour drive from San Francisco to the sunlit shores of Kings Beach. Set on Tahoe’s northern end, this beach was named after local card shark, Joe King, who used his winnings to develop some of the lake’s earliest lodgings. On the lake’s southern shore, is Pope Beach, where you’ll find another Tahoe institution, Camp Richardson.
From Pope Beach follow the bike path to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. An open-air classroom for the entire family, the center features fabulous interpretative walks such as the Rainbow Trail.
Nearby, at DL Bliss State Park, follow the spectacular Rubicon Trail into neighboring Emerald Bay State Park. This park is home to the Eagle Falls Trail, a moderate two-mile hike that takes in some of the Sierra high country’s finest views.
When the ponderosa pines bend with the season’s first snow, Tahoe transforms into the nation’s favorite winter playground. Whether you’re looking for snow-capped peaks or crystal clear coves, places to bond with loved ones or pockets of pure solitude, The Lake in the Sky has it all.

Places to see in ( Columbia - USA )
Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina. It’s home to the South Carolina State House, a Greek Revival building set in gardens dotted with monuments. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is a huge park with animal enclosures and botanical gardens. A diverse collection spanning centuries is on display at the Columbia Museum of Art. Dating to 1823, the Robert Mills House is a mansion and museum surrounded by ornate gardens.
The city is located approximately 13 miles (21 km) northwest of the geographic center of South Carolina, and is the primary city of the Midlands region of the state. It lies at the confluence of the Saluda River and the Broad River, which merge at Columbia to form the Congaree River. Columbia is home to the University of South Carolina, the state's flagship university and the largest in the state, and is also the site of Fort Jackson, the largest United States Army installation for Basic Combat Training. Columbia is also located 20 miles west of the site of McEntire Joint National Guard Base, which is operated by the U.S. Air Force and is used as a training base for the 169th Fighter Wing of The South Carolina Air National Guard. See the USA - Sept 2013 Oregon Beach - YouTube
Please read **************
The video is called see the USA because so many people from other countries don't have a clear picture of what America is about. We have relatives with us from Europe and all they knew of the USA was what they saw on the news, in movies and on TV cop and drama shows, so the vastness, natural beauty and even the quiet peaceful nature was a surprise to them.
Friendly people everywhere we went, with a smile and greeting to strangers is also a pleasant surprise.
We love traveling in the USA for it's natural splendor, fantastic friendly people and low cost...Thank You America and Americans for making our travels so pleasant and memorable..
