Year 1935. The new house in the suburb of Moscow becomes populated by new settlers. The simple plot about destinies of people of different professions and hobbies begins with it. Terrible years of general dumbness are ahead succeded by war with its bitterness of losses, cold, hunger and grievous farewells. The end of war returns joy of life. Still the sun shines in windows, poplar down flies and children run to school again.
